It is a premier residential substance use disorder treatment center located in a chalet-style lodge nestled within the wooded mountains of West Virginia. The facility provides high-end, evidence-based care and attracts patients from across the country seeking treatment in a private, restorative setting.\nWise Path Recovery Centers provides compassionate, evidence-based treatment for individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health needs.\nOur facilities are more than buildings-they are environments where people begin rebuilding their lives. Our Maintenance Technician plays an important role in creating a setting that is safe, dependable, professional, and supportive of recovery.\nWhat You’ll Do\nFacility Maintenance\nPerform preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, and facility infrastructure.\nConduct routine inspections for maintenance, safety, and security concerns.\nComplete routine and emergency repairs.\nRepair doors, windows, locks, flooring, ceilings, walls, and other building components.\nPerform basic carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and patching.\nMaintain and repair facility furnishings and fixtures.\nReplace light bulbs, ballasts, switches, outlets, and fixtures.\nPerform basic plumbing repairs involving sinks, toilets, faucets, drains, and water lines.\nPerform minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs within the scope of the position.\nMaintain facility equipment in safe working condition.\nRespond promptly to maintenance requests from staff.\nAssist with facility renovations, construction projects, and new-site preparation.\nWork requiring a licensed trade professional will be referred to an appropriately licensed contractor.\nGrounds & Exterior Maintenance\nMaintain lawns, landscaping, and outdoor common areas.\nMow grass, trim shrubs, prune vegetation, and maintain flower beds.\nAssist with planting and seasonal landscaping.\nRemove snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, parking areas, and entrances.\nApply salt and de-icing materials during winter weather.\nMaintain fences, patios, recreation areas, and walking paths.\nRemove litter and debris from facility grounds.\nAssist with irrigation and drainage system maintenance.\nMaintain outdoor spaces that are clean, safe, and supportive of a therapeutic environment.\nHVAC, Mechanical & Utility Systems\nMonitor HVAC equipment and building controls.\nCoordinate HVAC service and preventative maintenance with outside vendors.\nInspect boilers, water heaters, pumps, generators, and related building equipment.\nMonitor utility use and identify potential maintenance or conservation opportunities.\nKeep mechanical and utility rooms safe, clean, and organized.\nSafety & Security\nAssist with maintenance of locks, cameras, alarms, and facility access-control systems.\nConduct routine environmental and facility safety inspections.\nIdentify and correct environmental hazards.\nSupport compliance with applicable fire and life-safety requirements.\nInspect fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and exit signage as assigned.\nParticipate in emergency preparedness and facility response activities.\nProvide on-call maintenance support for urgent facility needs.\nCoordinate required inspections and maintain accurate compliance records.\nEnvironmental Services Support\nAssist with deep-cleaning and sanitation projects when needed.\nMaintain maintenance shops, storage spaces, and utility rooms.\nSupport infection-prevention and environmental health practices.\nAssist with proper disposal of waste and recyclable materials.\nVendor & Contractor Coordination\nObtain quotes and coordinate outside contractors and service providers.\nArrange repair services that fall outside the scope of the position.\nMonitor vendor performance and completed work.\nEnsure contractors follow facility safety requirements.\nCoordinate with water, sewer, and other utility vendors for testing, maintenance, and inspections.\nInventory & Documentation\nMaintain inventory of tools, equipment, parts, and maintenance supplies.\nOrder materials and replacement parts as needed.\nMaintain service records, repair logs, and preventative maintenance documentation.\nDocument inspections and completed repairs.\nAssist with maintenance and facility project budgeting.\nWho You Are\nYou are someone who notices problems before they become bigger problems. You are comfortable working independently, prioritizing multiple requests, and responding quickly when something affects facility safety or operations.\nYou also understand that working in a behavioral health environment requires professionalism, discretion, good judgment, and respect for the individuals receiving care.\nRequirements\nPrevious building maintenance, facilities, construction, property management, or related experience preferred.\nWorking knowledge of general building maintenance, basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and repair work.\nAbility to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.\nAbility to identify when work requires a licensed contractor and appropriately escalate the issue.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to maintain accurate records and complete basic maintenance documentation.\nAbility to work independently and manage competing priorities.\nReliable transportation and ability to travel between Wise Path locations as needed.\nValid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required.\nAbility to respond to urgent maintenance needs outside of normal business hours when necessary.\nWork Conditions\nThis position requires regular walking, standing, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and working in indoor and outdoor environments.\nThe Maintenance Technician must be able to safely lift and move equipment, supplies, and materials associated with facility maintenance and may occasionally work in mechanical rooms, outdoor areas, or other spaces with exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.\nWhy Join Wise Path?\nThis is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in the day-to-day success of our treatment facilities.
