This is a high-impact role for an attorney with strong law firm training and meaningful in-house experience who can operate independently, exercise sound judgment in complex and ambiguous situations, and provide practical guidance across a wide range of commercial, product, consumer, and operational matters.\nThis role sits at the center of the business. You will partner closely with the General Counsel and cross-functional leaders, help navigate difficult and fast-moving issues, and play a key role in continuing to build the legal function for the company’s next stage of growth. The right candidate will be equally comfortable advising on high-stakes risk questions, influencing senior stakeholders, and rolling up their sleeves to handle the day-to-day work that keeps the business moving.\nWhat You'll Do\nPartner closely with the General Counsel and leaders across the company on a broad range of legal, regulatory, compliance, and risk management matters\nServe as a legal leader on commercial, consumer, product, and operational matters across the business\nAdvise on matters affecting Wyze’s products and services, including consumer protection, privacy, marketing, product, regulatory, IP, employment, governance and related risks\nDraft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including supply, licensing, AI, SaaS, services, vendor, confidentiality, and other business-critical agreements\nIdentify legal issues proactively, and assess, prioritize, and drive practical solutions in a fast-moving environment where many questions do not have clear black-and-white answers\nDeliver practical, business-oriented guidance that enables informed decisions while appropriately managing legal and reputational risk\nInfluence and partner effectively across functions and levels, with the judgment, candor and conviction to speak up on important issues\nBuild scalable legal support through practical training, templates, tools, and guidance that help the business move faster and operate responsibly\nManage outside counsel thoughtfully and efficiently with a strong sense of the business’ priorities\nOperate with strong ownership across both strategic and operational work in a lean legal function\nWhat You Bring\nJuris Doctor from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar\nSignificant experience as a business attorney, including both strong law firm training and meaningful in-house counseling experience\nSubstantial experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements\nDemonstrated experience advising on consumer protection, privacy, and related product or commercial legal issues\nExceptional business judgment and the ability to assess risk in nuanced, ambiguous, and high-stakes situations\nAbility to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive matters to resolution with minimal oversight\nStrong executive presence and the ability to influence and partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex legal analysis into clear, practical, business oriented guidance\nHigh integrity, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach that builds trust and credibility across the organization\nComfort thriving in a lean, fast-paced environment with broad responsibility\nPreferred qualifications\nExperience counseling product, consumer, or commercial teams in a technology company\nExperience supporting hardware, connected device, consumer electronics, or other physical product businesses\nExperience building or improving legal processes, templates, and scalable self-service tools\nGenuine interest in consumer technology and the ways devices, software, and services intersect in the customer experience\nBase Salary range of $213,000-288,000 DOE + bonus target up to 30% + equity\nCompensation\nThe base pay range for this role is $213,000 - $288,000 per year.\nMore about us:\nOver the years, Wyze earned a reputation for disrupting entrenched categories and delivering products that feel almost too good to be true.
