The position directs engineering project integration activities which support the success of new nuclear plant projects. This role combines strategic planning with operational oversight to ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business objectives.Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:\nLead engineering strategy development and oversight for project engineering activities across all nuclear technology development projects.\nEstablish and implement engineering standards, processes, and quality procedures to support design and development activities.\nDevelop technology roadmaps and maturation plans to support deployment of nuclear technologies from inception through operation.\nDirect and manage engineering teams.\nCoordinate engineering resources, processes, tools, and training across nuclear product development efforts.\nInterface with project execution teams to ensure technical alignment with business objectives.\nSupport budget and resource allocation planning and periodic status updates.\nSupport implementation of engineering tools and digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency.\nRepresent the company at industry panels, technical forums, and government engagements.\nCollaborate with Business Development and Government Affairs to support engagement with government and industry stakeholders.\nProvide engineering oversight for the development and deployment of advanced nuclear technologies.\nSet overarching Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for direct reports and their teams, maintaining and reporting on key engineering metrics.\nPerform engineering design reviews and propose solutions to complex technical problems.\nLead technical risk assessments and mitigation strategies for nuclear projects.\nEnsure compliance with nuclear quality assurance requirements and regulatory standards.\nEnsure engineering teams maintain appropriate velocity, removing obstacles and maintaining high-quality outputs.\nMentor early career engineers and develop engineering staff to build high-performing teams.\nMaintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.\nPerform other duties as necessary.\nJob Profile Minimum Qualifications:\nA B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical field is required.\nTypically, fifteen years of experience in nuclear engineering or related industry experience.\nTypically, five years in engineering leadership roles with demonstrated success delivering complex technical projects.\nTypically, five plus years in an engineering project management role is required.\nExperience in developing and maintaining engineering standards and quality processes.\nStrong understanding of nuclear regulatory requirements and licensing processes.\nLocation: 9801 Washingtonian Boulevard, Gaithersburg, Maryland\nWork Site Expectations: 4 days in office\nTravel Expectations: Up to 10%\nHours: Standard office hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm ET, Monday - Friday\nCompensation\nAs required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.).
