This role applies strong technical, commercial, and leadership capabilities to drive a package from design through final delivery while maintaining strict adherence to Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality, and Security (SHEQS) standards and all project execution requirements.The role works closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure that all obligations and deliverables are completed as required across design, fabrication, regulatory compliance, installation, and commissioning. The role requires proactive identification of risks, opportunities, and execution gaps, developing mitigation and capture plans in coordination with Engineering Managers, Supply Chain Managers, Quality Managers, and the Project Director.\nThis position also provides reporting on package status, risks, cost exposure, and schedule outlook for the Project Management Team and, when required, Corporate Management\nJob Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:\n\nEquipment Execution & Delivery\nCoordinate all stakeholders to ensure assigned equipment packages are designed, fabricated, and delivered on schedule and within budget while meeting all quality, regulatory, code, commercial, and execution requirements.\nManage package complexity, criticality, and value as assigned, adjusting execution strategies as project conditions evolve.\nEnsure Configuration Management requirements are applied and that all changes follow established change management processes.\nApply design-for-manufacturing principles for First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) components.\nAlign with manufacturing, transportation, installation, and commissioning teams to confirm all end-user requirements are established prior to award.\nEnsure all quality requirements are documented and executed at each project stage leading up to handover.\nTrack bid basis cost and schedule performance, identifying deviations and implementing mitigation plans.\nProject Reporting & Controls\nProvide accurate, periodic status updates and forward-looking assessments to the Project Management Team and Project Director.\nMaintain complete and accurate records of package costs, commitments, changes, and forecasts.\nCollaborate with Project Controls to validate cost trends, schedule impacts, and forecast accuracy.\nWork with project schedulers to analyze required on-site dates and support installation planning.\nRisk, Opportunity & Change Management\nIdentify and communicate risks and opportunities throughout package execution.\nEnforce the Management of Change process, including administration of Project Change Notices and contractual variations.\nMaintain contingency plans and contribute to project lessons learned.\nStakeholder & Supplier Management\nInterface with internal and external stakeholders including Suppliers, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, QHSES, Construction, Installation, Commissioning, EPC Contractors, and Client representatives.\nLead and participate in key project meetings such as kickoff sessions, progress reviews, and pre-inspection meetings.\nArrange and participate in supplier and client status meetings, ensuring timely issue resolution.Manage formal correspondence with suppliers, clients, and other parties.\nTechnical & Commercial Governance\nReview and validate key documents including Vendor Contracts, Technical and Commercial Bid Evaluations, Purchase Orders, and supplier documentation.\nOversee documentation flow and prioritize deliverables to support schedule and cost objectives.\nWork closely with end users to ensure expectations, technical requirements, and operational needs are met.\nJob Profile Minimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, or a related technical field\nTypically demonstrated by 10 plus yrs of relevent experience\nExperience managing technical, equipment-related, or manufacturing/fabrication projects\nStrong understanding of equipment design, fabrication, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements\nExperience working with Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams\nDemonstrated ability to manage schedules, budgets, risks, and complex technical interfaces\nProficiency with project management tools, reporting systems, and documentation practices\nStrong communication skills with ability to provide executive-level reporting\nAbility to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\nLocation: Houston, TX or Gaithersburg, MD \nWork Site Expectations: 4 days onsite\nTravel Expectations: Up to 10% as needed\nHours: 8:00am-5:00pm ET, Monday-Friday\nCompensation\nAs required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.).
