This Procurement Engineer role builds and leads the supplier base that powers TRISO-X - identifying, developing, and qualifying the equipment and service suppliers needed to meet project schedules, cost targets, and regional localization goals for first-of-a-kind nuclear fuel and reactor programs. You'll develop strategic and project-specific supply chain execution plans that deliver value for the company and its customers; build category plans grounded in spend and risk analysis; design and execute negotiation and risk-mitigation strategies; and negotiate contract cost, schedule, Terms & Conditions, and technical requirements - including long-term strategic supplier agreements that advance company objectives and generate revenue.Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities\nIdentify and develop equipment and service suppliers to establish a robust supply chain that supports project goals and supply chain regional localization targets.\nDevelop strategic supply chain plans which deliver valve for the company and its customers.\nDevelop project specific supply chain execution plans to meet the project schedule and cost goals.\nPrepare category plans, perform category spend and risk analysis; plan and implement negotiation strategies; design and implement category and supplier risk mitigation strategies; plan and implement contract management for contracts within category.\nConduct negotiations with suppliers relative to contract costing, schedule, Terms & Conditions (T&Cs), and technical requirements. Negotiate and establish long term strategic supplier agreements to achieve strategic objectives and generate revenue.\nManage equipment and service contracts to ensure on time purchase and delivery to the project schedule.\nProvide direction on commercial and contracting strategy to the Engineering, Procurement, and other business units.\nPerform reviews of specifications, equipment datasheets, and Scopes of Work to ensure all technical and quality requirements are specified to facility accurate supplier proposals.\nCoordinate with the Quality Assurance (QA) department to qualify suppliers, determine correct contract QA requirements, and identify appropriate hold and surveillance activities.\nDevelop close working relationships with supplier and end customers.\nMonitor supplier performance to ensure that contract terms and conditions are being met or exceeded and performance meets customer expectations. Take initiate to resolve supplier performance issues.\nMaintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.\nAnalyze market conditions, project demands, and competing project to secure the best pricing and available shop reservations.\nSupport business development activities.\nLead the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities, listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document, without close supervision and some latitude for independent judgment.\nProvide feedback and guidance to more junior team members with the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document.\nShares knowledge related to industry best practices and standards with others across the team.\nPerform other duties as assigned by manager.\nJob Profile Minimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in engineering or science, required.\nTypically, ten years of experience in an engineering or supply chain role with at least two years in supply chain required.\nExperience with developing scopes of work for services and technical and quality requirements for procurement of equipment.\nExperience with supplier negotiations.\nExperience developing project plans, schedules, and costing models.\nExperience in nuclear industry or other highly regulated industry.\nTechnical knowledge about the manufacture, operation, and maintenance of typical power plant components.\nLocation: Oak Ridge, TN\nWork Site Expectations: 5 days onsite\nTravel Expectations: Up to 10%\nHours: 8:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri\nCompensation\nAs required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.).
