This role manages high-complexity subcontract activities and serves as the technical authority for subcontract performance, ensuring alignment with Acquisition Services Management Division and Construction Management policies and procedures. The STR provides technical direction, resolves complex field challenges, and ensures subcontractors meet all contractual, regulatory, and performance requirements. This role proactively mitigates risk, drives operational excellence, ensures technical integration across project stakeholders, and stewards continuous improvement in subcontract execution.Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities: \nEnsuring strict adherence to safety, quality, technical, and regulatory requirements.\nHelp contribute across field engineering, construction management, safety, procurement, and operations, ensuring integrated planning and efficient execution.\nContribute to complex modifications within nuclear or similarly hazardous facilities, providing advanced technical guidance and issue resolution.\nEnsure full compliance with Standard Work Process Procedures and lead improvements to strengthen subcontractor performance and project outcomes.\nChampion Zero-Accident safety principles, mentor junior STRs, and reinforce a strong safety culture across subcontract teams.\nContribute to NQA-1 compliant subcontract implementation, identifying gaps, recommending corrective actions, and ensuring sustained compliance.\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive documentation packages, inspection records, performance metrics, and progress reports for management.\nLevel II: Support team members with the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities, listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document, under guided supervision. \nLevel III: Conduct risk identification and analysis; recommend and implement mitigation strategies to support safe, efficient, and compliant execution.\nServe as the technical point of contact for subcontractors, resolving complex issues and ensuring alignment with project goals and contractual requirements.\nExecute the core tasks and responsibilities, listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document, with minimal supervision. \nJob Profile Minimum Qualifications:\nLevel II: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Contracts Law, Environmental Sciences, or related field, and 3 or more years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including specialized coursework in contract management\n Level III: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Contracts Law, Environmental Sciences, or related field, and 5 or more years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including specialized coursework in contract management\nExperience across multiple construction oversight disciplines (Field Engineering, Superintendent, Construction Management, Project Management, STR, Waste Management, Safety, Quality, or Procurement).\nKnowledge and application of Standard Work Process Procedures.\nExperience with construction modifications in nuclear facility operations or other highly complex, hazardous environments.\nExperience managing and executing NQA-1 compliant subcontracts , preferred.\nExperience with commissioning, system testing, troubleshooting, and operational validations, preferred.\nLocation: 151 Lafayette Drive, Suite 300, Oak Ridge, TN\nWork Site Expectations: 5 days in office\nTravel: 10% potential\nHours: 8:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri\nCompensation\nAs required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.).
