We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next.\nELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER\nJoin the High Power Engineering team supporting SpaceXSI to design, build, operate, and maintain electrical infrastructure for AI training campuses. As a Design Engineer on the Data Center team, you will work with a small on-site team to scale high-capacity power systems on a schedule set by compute demand. The position is based in Memphis, TN, with potential travel to other sites.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nProduce and maintain single-line diagrams, three-lines, panel schedules, cable schedules, conduit and raceway layouts, grounding plans, and equipment elevations\nPerform load calculations, voltage drop, cable ampacity and derating, conduit fill, and pull-tension analysis including long underground runs\nSize MV/LV transformers, switchgear, busway, and feeders; specify impedance, BIL, temperature rise, and short-time ratings\nWrite equipment specifications and technical bid evaluations for ring-main units, transformers, switchgear, busway, and PDUs\nSupply model inputs to protection and power-system studies: nameplate data, impedances, cable constants, and as-designed configurations\nResolve field RFIs and issue design changes during construction\nMaintain organized design and asset documentation for Data Center electrical packages\nEnsure compliance with NFPA 70, 70B, 70E, NESC, and IEEE standards, prioritizing safety and engineering excellence\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline\n3+ years of electrical design experience in data center, industrial, or utility facilities\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nExperience producing issued-for-construction drawing sets in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or Revit\nWorking knowledge of NEC Articles 110, 215, 240, 250, 310, and 450\nMedium-voltage cable system design experience\nExperience with power systems analysis software and tools such as ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, Matlab, and/or PSCAD\nRevit or BIM coordination experience\nEngineer in Training certification, or on track for a Professional Engineer license\nExperience on a repeated, multi-phase build rather than one-off projects\nDemonstrated initiative, creative problem-solving, and strong analytical/engineering fundamentals\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nPerform hands-on work in all environments (heat, cold, rain), in tight quarters or at heights\nWork extended hours and weekends as needed to support construction, energization, and operations\nRemain focused in hazardous environments while wearing appropriate PPE\nLift up to 25 lbs unassisted\nProvide 24/7 on-call support for emergencies\nWilling to work on-site in Memphis, TN - this is not a remote or hybrid role\nTravel up to 25% for factory witness testing, vendor and OEM engagement, and supporting other sites\nValid driver's license\nSpaceXSI is an equal opportunity employer.
