We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next.\nELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN, POWER GENERATION\nThe Power Generation team is seeking an Electrical Technician to operate and maintain plant electrical systems at SpaceXSI's power generation facility. You will work hands-on across medium-voltage generation, distribution, and balance-of-plant electrical equipment up to 13.5 kV and 34.8 kV. This is an operations and maintenance role - you will switch, troubleshoot, repair, and keep electrical systems online in a high-reliability, fast-paced plant environment.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nPerform operations and maintenance on plant electrical systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, motors, VFDs, UPS units, automatic transfer switches, and emergency/black-start equipment, at voltages up to 13.5 kV and 34.8 kV\nExecute switching, isolation, LOTO, racking of breakers, and restoration of medium-voltage equipment in accordance with plant procedures and NFPA 70E\nTroubleshoot electrical faults on power distribution, protection, grounding, lighting, and auxiliary systems using one-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical test equipment\nPerform preventive and predictive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime\nSupport plant startups, shutdowns, outages, and commissioning activities alongside operators, controls technicians, and engineers\nInstall, terminate, and maintain plant electrical equipment, cable, and control wiring as required for operations and maintenance work\nRespond to electrical alarms, trips, and equipment failures; support root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions\nCoordinate with operations, engineering, and utility personnel on switching, clearances, and electrical work that affects plant generation\nMaintain accurate work orders, switching records, and as-found/as-left documentation\nFollow all safety, LOTO, arc-flash, and PPE requirements while working in energized and hazardous plant environments\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate\n3+ years of experience as an electrical technician, industrial electrician, or similar role maintaining industrial or power generation electrical systems\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nExperience operating and maintaining medium-voltage electrical systems (4.16 kV to 34.8 kV), including switchgear, transformers, and breakers\nExperience in a power plant, generating station, or other high-reliability industrial facility\nAbility to read and interpret single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and equipment O&M manuals\nExperience with LOTO, switching procedures, and NFPA 70E / arc-flash safety practices\nExperience troubleshooting motors, VFDs, MCCs, UPS systems, and plant auxiliary electrical equipment\nFamiliarity with electrical test equipment (multimeters, insulation testers, infrared, and similar)\nJourneyman electrician license or equivalent formal electrical training\nExperience using a CMMS or work-order system to plan and close maintenance work\nAbility to work independently and as part of a multi-discipline operations and maintenance team\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nWillingness to perform hands-on work in all environments (heat, cold, rain), in tight quarters or at heights\nAbility to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and rotating or on-call schedules to support plant operations\nAbility to remain focused in hazardous environments while wearing appropriate PPE\nAbility to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted\nLifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position\nMust be able to work on-site at the power generation facility, with potential travel to other SpaceX sites\nSpaceXSI is an equal opportunity employer.
