We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next.\nABOUT THE ROLE:\nAs a leading member of the power generation engineering team, you will design, build, and activate technically advanced power plants and generation infrastructure. As a lead engineer, you will lead a team designing, building, and maintaining electrical power systems that directly contribute to new power generation projects. You will be able to operate with autonomy to solve diverse and complex problems, excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously, and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will work with electrical, mechanical, controls, and other engineering disciplines, trade partners, and internal customers to support these goals. \nRESPONSIBILITIES: \nLead a team of engineers and work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines to provide detailed electrical design and specifications for the installation of the following equipment and systems: \nElectrical power distribution systems for power generation plants. \n\nSwitchgear and motor control centers. \n\nPlant and yard lighting. \n\nPower plant control systems and ladder logic. \n\nUninterruptible power supply (UPS) units. \n\nStandby, emergency, and black-start generators. \n\nAutomatic transfer switches. \n\nPower monitoring hardware and software. \n\nPlant communications, control network, and wiring. \n\nPlant and equipment grounding systems. \n\nFire alarm systems and lightning protection systems. \n\nProvide electrical engineering support to power plant technicians and operators to troubleshoot existing electrical equipment and controllers. \nProvide engineering support for the design, operation, and troubleshooting of all power plant electrical components and systems, including: \nLoad flow analysis of electrical power distribution systems. \n\nElectrical equipment evaluation. \n\nPlant and equipment grounding. \n\nPower monitoring hardware and software. \n\nEnsure that all equipment interfaces properly with other mechanical and electrical systems, including compatibility with plant power budgets. \nCoordinate all electrical installations and maintenance activities with local electrical utilities personnel. \nEnsure all electrical designs and installations conform to applicable codes and regulations. \nProvide code review and analysis utilizing NFPA 70E, NFPA 70 NEC, NFPA 497, NFPA 101, NESC, IEEE, and IBC. \nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: \nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline. \n3+ years of professional experience working on electrical projects, power distribution systems, switchgear, UPS's, and/or generators. \nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: \n3+ years of management experience. \n5+ years of professional experience in a similar role. \nProfessional Engineering (PE) license. \nExperience with power plant or power generation electrical systems. \nAbility to read and understand power and control schematics. \nAbility to read and understand highly technical equipment operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals. \nExperience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and industrial pumps. \nExperience with controls in MODBUS communication. \nExperience with medium voltage distribution. \nExperience with control panel design and production. \nWorking knowledge of power coordination and arc flash. \nAbility to work on multiple tasks concurrently. \nHigh level of self-motivation, with the ability to work under minimal supervision. \nGood organizational skills. \nAbility to prioritize and schedule workload. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills. \nSpaceXAI is an equal opportunity employer.
