xAI

xAI is an American artificial intelligence company founded by Elon Musk in 2023 with the stated goal of building models that help humans understand the universe. It develops the Grok family of large language models, distributes them through a consumer assistant, a developer API and deep integration with the X social platform, and adds image and video generation through Grok Imagine. The company runs its own Colossus supercomputer clusters in Memphis, Tennessee, is headquartered in Palo Alto, California, and merged with X Corp in 2025 to combine model development with a large consumer distribution channel.

SpaceXAI’s mission is to create AI systems that can accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. Our team is small, highly motivated, and focused on engineering excellence. This organization is for individuals who appreciate challenging themselves and thrive on curiosity. We operate with a flat organizational structure. All employees are expected to be hands-on and to contribute directly to the company’s mission. Leadership is given to those who show initiative and consistently deliver excellence. Work ethic and strong prioritization skills are important. All employees are expected to have strong communication skills. They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role supervises hourly Production Coordinators and adjacent logistics teammates supporting data center construction, commissioning, and ongoing campus operations at Memphis / Southaven. You will lead shift execution of work-order driven material flow - inventory requests, shortage management, kit / de-kit, BOM reconciliation, and on-time delivery of high-value servers, networking gear, power and cooling components, and infrastructure materials to Site Operations and construction. You will set the standard for inventory integrity, safety, and customer service while driving continuous improvement across receiving, inventory, kitting, and material flow.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage an hourly workforce by assessing employee performance, providing positive and constructive feedback, facilitating conflict resolution, and addressing repeat issues through corrective actions, performance improvement plans, or disciplinary means
  • Lead by setting an example, taking feedback from all levels of the organization, and motivating the team to achieve the highest level of results
  • Monitor and improve operations, ensuring a safe work environment with the goal of zero OSHA recordables annually
  • Own shift-level production coordination: inventory requests from work orders, kits, and replacement parts; planning and shortage management; and on-time material delivery for data center build and operations
  • Ensure parts and equipment are handled and protected to SpaceXAI specifications, including high-value servers, networking gear, power and cooling components, and infrastructure materials
  • Interface with engineers, technicians, Site Operations, and construction on work-order and material-request priorities; communicate part status and estimated completion dates to leadership
  • Ensure work-order bill of material quantities are reconciled and that material released to production matches paperwork (damage, part numbers, quantity, revisions)
  • Maintain high integrity in company computer systems; drive resolution of incorrect system data that creates bad demand, schedules, or operational failure
  • Supervise kit build, de-kit, return-to-stock, staging, and workflow improvements across receiving, inventory, and material flow
  • Ensure cycle counting, FIFO / stock rotation, and environmental controls are followed for materials under the team’s care
  • Lead cost-saving and continuous-improvement projects across production coordination and logistics
  • Actively develop the workforce and monitor and approve employee timekeeping

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of professional experience in materials management, supply chain, or production/manufacturing; or 4+ years of professional experience in materials management, supply chain, or production/manufacturing in lieu of a degree
  • 1+ years of experience leading or supervising hourly warehouse, inventory, production coordination, or manufacturing teams

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience working with ERP / inventory management software (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Experience with MRP systems and work-order / BOM-driven material flow
  • 3+ years of leadership experience within materials management or production coordination
  • Experience in data center, aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environments
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP)
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience; Green or Black Belt preferred
  • Ability to operate forklift equipment
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills; organized, self-driven, and effective in a fast-paced cross-functional environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing and able to work one or more of the following shifts; preference for candidates flexible across all four shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as site needs require:
    • Shift A: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Sunday-Wednesday
    • Shift B: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Wednesday-Saturday
    • Shift C: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM, Sunday-Wednesday
    • Shift D: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM, Wednesday-Saturday
