Location: Toronto, Canada\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop and maintain JIT and AOT hybrid compilation pipelines for PennyLane.\nConvert abstract algorithm descriptions into efficient and understandable software implementations.\nConduct R&D supporting new hardware platforms, programming paradigms, and software tools for quantum computing workloads.\nCommunicate complex technical concepts to the wider team;\nParticipate in software specification, architecture, documentation, verification, and validation.\nLead software best practices including continuous integration, unit testing, documentation, and code reviews.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.\n2+ years of development experience with modern optimizing compilers across different architectures.\nStrong knowledge of Python and C++;\nExperience with benchmarking and performance-oriented optimization.\nStrong focus on software testing and quality.\nPreferred:\nExperience developing projects with MLIR and/or LLVM.\nUnderstanding of advanced compiler optimization techniques.\nFamiliarity with automatic differentiation methods and frameworks such as Autograd, Torch, TensorFlow, or JAX.\nEducation or training in quantum computing through work experience, coursework, a thesis, or peer-reviewed publications.\nExperience developing toolkits, compilers, or runtime environments for heterogeneous architectures.\nBenefits and Compensation:\nBase salary: CAD $120,000 to $160,000 annually.\nBase salary is determined based on location, experience, and internal benchmarks.\nEligible for equity and benefits.\nInclusive and equitable workplace.\nWorkplace accommodations are available during the recruitment process.\nOther Information:\nThis is a new position.\nThe company may use AI tools to assist with screening and assessment.
