This position will teach mathematics education coursework serving our Primary, Secondary, and Special Education licensure programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels and will pursue an active research and scholarship agenda consistent with tenure-track expectations.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nProvide instruction for a variety of mathematics education and teacher preparation courses, including elementary and secondary math methods courses. \nMaintain an active program of scholarly research and professional activity in mathematics education, consistent with tenure-track expectations. \nAdvise and mentor students pursuing licensure and degree programs. \nCollaborate with the Program Directors and Field Coordinator regarding field experiences related to mathematics instruction. \nMaintain student records and data, ensuring students are meeting program and licensure requirements, and support state and national accreditation. \nContribute to the service responsibilities of the School of Education, College, and University. \nSustain and develop relationships with area schools and districts. \nRequired Qualifications\nA Doctorate in Mathematics Education, Curriculum and Instruction with specialization in Mathematics, STEM Education with specialization in Mathematics, or a closely related field. \nA valid professional educator license, and the ability to be licensed in Ohio within the first year of employment. \nMinimum 5 years’ related K-12 teaching experience while holding a professional educator license. \nEvidence of, or strong potential for, scholarly research and publication in mathematics education. \nExcellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. \nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team within the School of Education. \nAn understanding of and commitment to Xavier University’s Jesuit Catholic mission and identity. \nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in interdisciplinary STEM education. \nCollegiate teaching experience. \nExperience with online or hybrid course delivery. \nExperience with state and/or national accreditation processes (e.g., CAEP, ODHE). \nTeaching Load, Tenure-Track:\nThe teaching expectation is 18 credit hours annually for this tenure-track faculty position when a faculty member meets the College's active scholarship standards\nThe School of Education is part of the College of Health and Human Sciences.
