This position will teach foundational coursework required across every School of Education licensure program, undergraduate and graduate, including courses such as Introduction to Education, Human Development, and the Student Teaching Seminar. The position also provides service within the School of Education, including academic advising, oversight of the student disposition process in collaboration with the Field Coordinator, and support for state and national accreditation. This position reports to School of Education leadership. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nTeach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses that serve as core requirements across the School of Education's licensure and Master’s of Education programs (Elementary, Secondary, Special Education, Montessori Education, Educational Administration, Reading, and TESOL).\nAdvise students across multiple programs regarding course sequencing and requirements.\nMaintain student records and data, ensuring students are meeting foundational course requirements, and support state and national accreditation.\nAssist with enrollment and recruitment efforts as needed.\nRequired Qualifications\nA Doctorate in Education or a closely related field.\nA valid professional educator license, and the ability to be licensed in Ohio within the first year of employment.\nMinimum 5 years’ related K-12 teaching experience while holding a professional educator license.\nExcellent organizational, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.\nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team within and among School of Education programs.\n An understanding of and commitment to Xavier University’s Jesuit Catholic mission and identity.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCollegiate teaching experience across multiple programs in human development, educational foundations, or closely related coursework.\nExperience with online or hybrid course delivery.\nMultiple credentials or licensures (TESOL, Special Education, etc.)\nTeaching Load, Non-Tenure-Track:\nThe teaching expectation is 24 credit hours annually for this non-tenure-track faculty position.\nThe School of Education is part of the College of Health and Human Sciences.
