This individual will function as the Tier I/Tier II specialist over audio visual technologies in classrooms, conference rooms, and other areas on campus. The qualified candidate will perform technical troubleshooting for audio visual systems, including Crestron control systems, Teams Rooms, Shure Microflex systems, and the College of Medicine. The technician will train faculty and staff in the proper use of classroom systems, conference rooms, and lager events. This position is an afternoon/evening shift 11:30AM - 8:00PM. The Audio Visual Technician reports to the Assistant Director of Client Services.\nXavier University is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Audio Visual Technician to join our IT team. The Audio Visual Technician plays a vital part in advancing this mission by providing support for Classroom technology systems, conference rooms, event spaces and the College of Medicine. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape initiatives, strengthen campus services, and help create a community where all members can learn, grow, and succeed.\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPerform technical troubleshooting for audio-visual activities;\nEquipment delivery, setup, and retrieval;\nProvide training of classroom Audio Visual systems, including Zoom kits, Mersive Solstice pods and Crestron presentations systems;\nMonitor and maintain AV equipment management applications (i.e. Crestron XiO Cloud, Microsoft Team Admin Center, etc.)\nCheck out Audio Visual equipment to faculty and staff as needed;\nProvide training and supervise a team of student employees;\nMaintain and update system software and firmware as needed;\nAssist with set up for events in larger event spaces across campus\nSupervises Student workers\nRequired Qualifications:\nVocational training in a field relevant to the responsibilities of the position;\nThree to five years’ experience managing technology support services in an enterprise and/or academic environment;\nExperience with Crestron control systems;\nExperience with Teams Rooms;\nExcellent analytic and troubleshooting skills;\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCTS Certification;\nExperience working in a higher education environment (Medical Higher Ed a plus);\nCrestron DMC-e certification, programming experience a plus;\nExperience with TeamDynamix\nTo ensure consideration, qualified/interested applicants must submit a cover letter and resume on Xavier University's website.\nReview of applications will start on November 2, 2026 and applications will be accepted until the position closes at the University’s discretion.\nCandidates selected for the final stages of the interview process will be asked to provide the names and contact information of three professional references.\nXavier University is part of the 500-year-old Jesuit Catholic tradition of academic excellence in the liberal arts.
