We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager to support our Technical Accounting function.\nOverall, the responsibility of this role is to (1) ensure that we have complied with all accounting requirements under US GAAP, with a special focus on revenue recognition, and the application of new accounting standards to support our new business models (2) partner with business units to understand new arrangements, upcoming product launches and complex transactions to perform contract reviews, document, and communicate accounting treatment to key stakeholders (3) help establish, develop, and ensure that we have aligned with all accounting requirements under US GAAP and global accounting policies as it relates to areas of responsibility, and (4) stay up to date on new accounting pronouncements that can impact gaming and support accounting teams with technical accounting research and analysis.\nYou will work closely to partner with the business units across the company to ensure a deep understanding of our business activities associated with games in development, and address accounting and finance-related issues. You will have interaction and insights into Business Unit finance teams.\nWhat you bring to the table\nPriorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:\nLead technical accounting research and documentation for complex transactions including revenue recognition unusual and non-recurring transactions\nPartner with FP&A, Legal, and Business Units to evaluate new products, contracts, and initiatives for accounting implications and provide guidance to ensure such transactions are forecasted properly.\nConsider implication of new accounting pronouncements on our current policy and standards and provide support on the adoption of such standards\nProvide training to accounting, finance, and business teams on new and existing accounting standards, as needed\nSupport quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting\nWork closely with the revenue and general ledger accounting teams to ensure accurate application of accounting policies\nParticipate in strategic projects including system implementations, process improvements, and M&A due diligence, as relevant\nMinimum Requirements\nExperience\nB.A./B.S. in Accounting\nMinimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in technical accounting, including public accounting and industry roles.\nStrong Microsoft Excel Skills\nDeep knowledge of US GAAP, particularly with revenue recognition, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.\nExperience in managing and analyzing large data sets\nCPA required\nKnowledge & Skills\nStrong analytical skills and critical thinking with the ability to analyze financial results and relationships between accounts and data\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nGreat teammate with experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders\nStrong communication\nKey Attributes\nAbility to work within tight deadlines\nSelf-motivated and eager to learn\nAbility to problem solve and collaborate\nExtra Points\nExperience with reporting tools such as Looker and Hyperion\nExperience with revenue recognition in the gaming industry\nAt Activision, we strive to create the most iconic brands in gaming and entertainment.
