With a portfolio that includes SPOT GPS messengers, next-generation IoT products and modems, and cloud-based telematics solutions, Globalstar’s cost effective satellite-powered innovations give users visibility and intelligence for improving safety and operational efficiencies.\nWhat we offer:\nWork/Life Balance: Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays\nFinancial Benefits: 401(k) Plan with Company Match, Employee Stock Purchase Program, Voluntary and Company Paid Group Life Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance, Medical FSA, Dependent Care, Competitive Salaries\nHealth & Wellness: Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Employee Assistance Program, Comprehensive and Interactive Wellness Program\nJob Summary:\nAs an Attitude and Orbital Control Subsystem (AOCS) Satellite Engineer, you will ensure the performance and status of on-orbit control systems for current and the next generation of LEO Satellites.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nNone\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nWork with a team of engineers to monitor and maintain the Globalstar space asset of multiple generations of satellites\nEstablish and maintain subject matter expertise in the Globalstar Satellite Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystem\nDetermine methods for optimizing attitude pointing performance while minimizing satellite safety risk in support of payload mission requirements\nPerform trend analysis for aging of onboard satellite Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystem sensors and actuators\nWrite and maintain satellite operations procedures and scripts\nParticipate in real time operations for nominal operations, anomaly resolution, and anomaly recovery\nMonitor satellite operations in real-time to confirm nominal performance or recommend contingency actions\nDevelop and maintain tools to streamline satellite and ground operations\nPrepare commanding requests for operators in accordance with established operations plan\nOversee the execution of commanding as necessary\nPerform all required telemetry monitoring and analysis, both short and long-term, in order to assure satellite safety\nSkills and Competencies:\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact clearly and concisely with all departments and levels of management\nExcellent organizational skills with attention-to-detail\nAbility to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment\nAbility to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks\nAbility to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality\nProficiency with Microsoft Office\nFamiliarity with NetSuite\nEducation, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications:\nBachelor's or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Aerospace, or a closely related Engineering field\n7+ years of experience with Satellite Attitude and Orbital Control Subsystems\n5+ years of experience with PID controllers, satellite sensors, and actuators\nExperience working in an established well-defined process environment\nFamiliarity with Python and MATLAB\nIt’s a bonus if you have:\nMaster's Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, or a closely related Engineering field\n10+ years of experience with Satellite Attitude and Orbital Control Subsystems\nPhysical Requirements:\nWillingness and ability to travel as needed\nWillingness and ability to work after regularly scheduled hours as needed\nAbility to sit at a desk for prolonged periods working on a computer (4 to 8 hours)\nAbility to operate the equipment used for the job\nAbility to lift 15 pounds at times\nReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job\nMarginal Functions:\nA review of this job description may have omitted some of the marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of the job duties and responsibilities.
