We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen its reliability, performance, and on-call depth.\nThis is a broad, hands-on role spanning infrastructure engineering, data pipeline reliability, monitoring strategy, and operational excellence. This individual helps the organization scale a growing monitoring and analytics capability while keeping it fast, cost-efficient, and dependable.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nNone\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nOwn the health and performance of a large-scale data and monitoring pipeline that ingests, stores, and serves high volumes of operational data.\nContinuously improve system performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability as data volume and usage grow.\nEvaluate, adopt, and integrate monitoring, alerting, and data-platform tools - both open-source and commercial - assessing build-vs-buy tradeoffs and leading pilots where useful.\nDesign and maintain the rules-based, deterministic checks that operational teams rely on for critical alerting and data-quality assurance.\nLead or contribute to incident response, on-call rotations, root-cause analysis, and postmortems for production systems.\nSupport disaster-recovery planning and execution, including regional failover exercises and recovery validation.\nAssess current workflows and data practices, identify gaps, and drive phased improvement plans in partnership with operations and other engineering teams.\nPartner with engineering leadership and other stakeholders to plan capacity, prioritize investments, and communicate tradeoffs in clear, non-technical terms when needed.\nChampion infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment practices across the platform.\nMentor other engineers and help build institutional knowledge so the platform isn't dependent on any single individual.\nSkills and Competencies:\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact clearly and concisely with all departments and levels of management\nExcellent organizational skills with attention-to-detail\nAbility to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment\nAbility to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks\nAbility to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality\nProficiency with Microsoft Office\nFamiliarity with NetSuite\nEducation, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications:\nRequired\n7+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, or a closely related discipline, operating production systems at meaningful scale.\nStrong experience with modern data infrastructure: streaming or event-driven data pipelines, large-scale storage systems, and analytical query engines.\nProficiency in at least one systems programming language (e.g., Go, Java, or similar) used for backend/data services.\nPractical experience with observability and monitoring tooling (metrics, logs, traces, alerting) in a production environment.\nDemonstrated on-call experience: incident response, root-cause analysis, and clear postmortem writing.\nComfort with infrastructure-as-code and modern CI/CD or GitOps practices.\nStrong communication skills - able to explain technical tradeoffs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.\nPreferred\nExperience operating a data or monitoring platform at large scale (multi-terabyte-per-day or higher).\nFamiliarity with multi-region or disaster-recovery architectures.\nFamiliarity with SQL database queries preferred\nFamiliarity with AWS data pipeline tools (S3, Kinesis, Kinesis Analytics, etc)\nBackground evaluating and integrating third-party or commercial monitoring/data platform tools.\nExperience in industries with high-cardinality sensor, IoT, or infrastructure telemetry.\nPhysical Requirements:\nWillingness and ability to travel as needed\nWillingness and ability to work after regularly scheduled hours as needed\nAbility to sit at a desk for prolonged periods working on a computer (4 to 8 hours)\nAbility to operate the equipment used for the job\nAbility to lift 15 pounds at times\nReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job\nMarginal Functions:\nA review of this job description may have omitted some of the marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of the job duties and responsibilities.
