Overview:
The Packaging Development Engineer role is based onsite in Lexington, Kentucky and focuses on end-to-end packaging engineering support from concept through production. This position partners closely with hardware engineering and cross-functional teams to develop practical packaging solutions that balance performance, cost, materials, and supply chain needs. The ideal candidate brings strong packaging experience, a collaborative approach, and the ability to contribute in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

What You Will Do:
- Develop packaging solutions from concept through production.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers throughout product development.
- Evaluate packaging materials, including corrugate, foam, pulp, plastic cushioning, and pallets.
- Assess trade-offs across cost, supply chain needs, and material performance.
- Manage packaging development projects and support timely execution across the team.
What You Need to Succeed:
- 6 to 10 years of packaging engineering experience, including end-to-end work from concept through production.
- A packaging engineering background is preferred; mechanical engineering experience with relevant packaging work will also be considered.
- Experience collaborating with hardware engineers during product development.
- Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Working knowledge of packaging materials, supply chain considerations, cost trade-offs, and material science; NX CAD (Siemens) experience is preferred.
