The Teacher supports children's social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development through responsive caregiving, engaging activities, and positive interactions.\nThe ideal candidate is dependable, patient, energetic, and passionate about helping young children learn and thrive.\nSchedule Requirement\nThis position is:\nPart-Time\n25 Hours Per Week\nMonday-Friday\n2:00 PM - 6:00 PM\nCandidates must be available to consistently work the required schedule.\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\nCandidates MUST meet ALL of the following requirements:\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\n Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential required.\nExperience working with infants and/or toddlers in a childcare center, daycare, Early Head Start, Head Start, preschool, nursery, or other Early Childhood Education setting.\nAbility to work Monday-Friday from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.\nAbility to provide nurturing, responsive, and developmentally appropriate care.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively as part of an Early Childhood Education team.\nAbility to obtain all required clearances and health documentation.\nApplicants who do not possess an Infant/Toddler CDA will not meet the minimum qualifications for this position.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nChild Supervision & Care\nMaintain active supervision of children at all times.\nEnsure the safety, well-being, and security of all children in care.\nProvide nurturing and responsive support to infants and toddlers throughout the day.\nBuild positive and trusting relationships with children and families.\nSupport children's emotional development through positive interactions and guidance.\nLearning & Development\nPlan and implement age-appropriate activities that support: Social-Emotional Development\n Cognitive Development\n Language and Communication Skills\n Fine Motor Development\n Gross Motor Development\n Early Learning Skills\n\nEncourage curiosity, creativity, exploration, and positive peer interactions.\nSupport classroom routines and transitions in a developmentally appropriate manner.\nPromote positive behavior and healthy social skills.\nClassroom Environment\nMaintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming classroom environment.\nPrepare materials and learning spaces for daily activities.\nSupport snack, meal, rest, and daily care routines as needed.\nEnsure toys, equipment, and learning materials remain safe and developmentally appropriate.\nFamily & Team Collaboration\nCommunicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians.\nShare information regarding children's daily experiences and needs.\nCollaborate with teachers, supervisors, and support staff to provide high-quality care.\nParticipate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.\nFollow all agency policies, classroom procedures, and licensing requirements.\nPreferred Qualifications\nOne or more years of experience in an infant/toddler classroom.\nExperience in Early Head Start, Head Start, childcare centers, or other licensed early learning programs.\nCPR and First Aid Certification.\nKnowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.\nExperience supporting diverse learners and children with varying developmental needs.\nWhat We're Looking For\nThe ideal candidate:\nHolds a valid Infant/Toddler CDA.\nHas experience working directly with infants and toddlers.\nIs reliable and able to maintain a consistent work schedule.\nUnderstands the importance of responsive caregiving and relationship-based teaching.\nDemonstrates patience, professionalism, and a positive attitude.\nEnjoys working collaboratively with children, families, and coworkers.\nCreates engaging experiences that support child growth and development.\nIs committed to providing exceptional care and learning opportunities for young children.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to actively participate in classroom activities.\nAbility to bend, kneel, crouch, lift, and move throughout the classroom as needed.\nAbility to lift and carry children or classroom materials when necessary.\nAbility to actively supervise children throughout the workday.\nAbility to maintain a safe classroom environment at all times.\nClearances & Requirements\nCandidates must be able to obtain and maintain:\nPA Child Abuse Clearance\nPA Criminal History Clearance\nFBI Fingerprinting Clearance\nHealth Assessment and TB Documentation\nAny additional clearances required for childcare licensing compliance\nJoin Our Mission\nAt Xiente, we believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment where they can learn, grow, and thrive.As an Extended Care Teacher, you will play an important role in supporting children's development during their earliest years while building meaningful relationships with families and helping create positive learning experiences every day.
