We value individuals who ask questions, challenge the status quo, and want to grow while making a real difference.\nAbout the Role\nXiFin is seeking an experienced Senior Total Rewards Analyst to analyze claims and plan performance, build financial models, and support vendor oversight and renewals. This role is for an experienced professional who works independently, turns complex data into clear recommendations, and wants to build breadth across the full total rewards spectrum.\nIn this role, you will partner closely with our HR operations team and finance and accounting teams to analyze and pay medical benefits claims for our self-funded plan. Over time, the role will expand into compensation and total rewards strategy, including market pricing, pay structure, and pay equity analysis. This position can be performed onsite in either our San Diego, CA or our Charleston, SC office.\nHow you will make an impact:\nIn this role, you’ll focus on the following:\nSelf-Funded Plan Analytics (primary focus initially, approx. 60-70%)\nAnalyze medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision claims data to identify trends, cost drivers, high-cost claimants, and utilization patterns\nBuild and maintain monthly and quarterly reporting on plan performance, including budget vs. actual, claims lag, IBNR, and stop-loss reimbursement tracking\nDevelop annual budget, renewal, and rate projections, including employee contribution strategies and COBRA rates\nEvaluate stop-loss coverage, including specific and aggregate attachment points, contract terms, and lasering\nPartner with brokers/consultants and manage day-to-day relationships with TPA, PBM, and stop-loss carriers, including performance guarantees and service issues\nSupport RFPs, vendor evaluations, and plan design modeling, including emerging strategies such as reference-based pricing, carve-outs, and PBM transparency models\nSupport compliance requirements for self-funded plans, including ACA, ERISA, Form 5500, MHPAEA, Transparency in Coverage, CAA/RxDC reporting, and nondiscrimination testing\nSupport open enrollment planning, communications, and post-enrollment analysis\nCompensation and Total Rewards (growing focus, approx. 30-40% over time)\nConduct market pricing and job benchmarking using compensation survey data\nSupport job architecture, leveling, and salary range development and maintenance\nModel and support annual merit, bonus, and incentive cycles\nPerform pay equity and compression analyses and recommend corrective actions\nSupport compliance with California pay transparency, pay data reporting, and FLSA classification requirements\nContribute to total rewards statements and employee communications that clearly show the value of our programs\nGeneral\nPresent findings and recommendations to HR leadership, Finance, and executives in clear, concise terms\nPartner with Finance on forecasting, accruals, and reporting related to benefits and compensation\nMaintain strict confidentiality of employee claims, compensation, and other sensitive data\nIdentify opportunities to automate and improve reporting and processes\nWhat you will bring to the role: \nWe’re looking for someone with strong technical acumen who thrives in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.\nYou might be a great fit if you:\nHave strong attention to detail and analytical rigor\nCan demonstrate strong business acumen and comfort connecting HR data to financial outcomes\nAre curious and eager to build new expertise in compensation analysis\nAre comfortable operating in fast-moving, complex and at time ambiguous environments and driving clarity where requirements are complex\nCan demonstrate strong ownership and accountability for project outcomes\nCommunicate effectively with both highly technical and non-technical audiences\nSkill and experience you have:\nYou don’t need to check every box.
