Data Modeler/Data Architect

About the Role :

We are hiring experienced Data Modelling professionals to join a Technology and Transformation practice. The selected candidate will design enterprise data models and architecture solutions that convert complex banking data into accurate, consistent and actionable information.

This role requires strong experience in conceptual, logical and physical data modelling, data warehousing, SQL and banking-domain data.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design conceptual, logical and physical data models for enterprise applications, data warehouses and analytics platforms.

- Develop relational and dimensional data models based on business and reporting requirements.

- Create and maintain UML class models, entity-relationship diagrams and data dictionaries.

- Work with business stakeholders to understand banking products, processes and data lifecycles.

- Support data modelling for Risk, Finance and regulatory-reporting requirements.

- Design models for complex, hierarchical, multi-domain and unstructured data.

- Define enterprise data architecture, governance and harmonized data-provisioning standards.

- Perform data profiling and identify data-quality issues across source systems.

- Translate business requirements into scalable and reusable data structures.

- Work with relational databases, cloud platforms and enterprise big-data environments.

- Review existing data models and recommend improvements.

- Maintain data-model documentation, metadata definitions and modelling standards.

- Collaborate with architects, developers, governance teams and senior stakeholders.

Required Skills :

- 4 - 9 years of overall experience in data modelling, data architecture or related data-management roles.

- Strong experience in conceptual, logical and physical data modelling.

- Hands-on experience with relational and dimensional modelling.

- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and database design.

- Proficiency in SQL and Advanced SQL.

- Experience with data-modelling tools such as Erwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio or similar.

- Understanding of data governance, metadata management and data-quality principles.

- Knowledge of relational databases and data-integration patterns.

- Experience modelling complex, hierarchical and multi-domain data.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Domain Requirements :

- Experience in Financial Services, preferably Private Banking or Retail Banking.

- Understanding of banking products, processes and data lifecycles.

- Exposure to Risk, Finance or regulatory-reporting data is highly preferred.

Good to Have :

- Exposure to AWS, Azure or GCP.

- Understanding of data lakes, big-data platforms and modern data architectures.

- Experience with UML and object-oriented modelling.

- Knowledge of XML, XMI, JSON or similar data-exchange formats.

- Experience with data profiling and data-governance frameworks.

- Senior-stakeholder and project-management experience.

Education : B.E. or B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline is preferred.
