You will act as the primary technical expert for complex parts and critical commercial opportunities, support customer and manufacturing partner discussions, and help engineers develop their technical expertise.\nThis position combines strong mechanical and manufacturing engineering knowledge with sound technical judgment, leadership, and communication skills.\nHow You’ll Contribute:\nProvide technical leadership and guidance to engineers involved in sourcing, cost estimation, and quoting\n\nAct as the primary technical expert for complex projects and critical commercial opportunities\n\nReview CAD models and technical drawings to assess manufacturing complexity, feasibility, and production requirements\n\nGuide the selection of manufacturing processes, materials, and post-processing methods\n\nReview and validate the technical content of quotations, including manufacturing assumptions, cost calculations, and specifications\n\nLead technical discussions with customers and manufacturing partners to clarify requirements, resolve challenges, and align on feasible solutions\n\nOversee the assignment of technical tags and ensure consistent categorization of parts by process, material, and complexity\n\nSupport the team in prioritizing complex requests and resolving technical escalations\n\nMentor junior engineers, share manufacturing knowledge, and provide constructive feedback on their assessments\n\nImprove technical review practices, quoting consistency, and collaboration between Engineering, Sourcing, and Sales\n\nWhat You’ll Bring to Xometry:\nEducation: Higher technical education in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field\n\nManufacturing Experience: Proven experience in a manufacturing environment involving complex parts, components, or products\n\nLeadership Experience: Previous experience as a technical lead, lead engineer, or senior engineer providing guidance to others\n\nTechnical Expertise: Strong knowledge of machining and fabrication processes, including CNC turning and milling, sheet metal processing, cutting, and welding\n\nCost Estimation: Experience assessing manufacturing costs, including materials, machining time, tooling, and post-processing\n\nDrawing & CAD Interpretation: Ability to review 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings, identify manufacturing challenges, and evaluate proposed solutions\n\nTechnical Judgment: Ability to validate quotations, identify missing information, and explain technical assumptions clearly\n\nLanguage: English proficiency at B1-B2 level\n\nCommunication: Ability to lead technical discussions with customers, manufacturing partners, and internal teams\n\nMentoring: Ability to support engineers’ development through practical guidance and knowledge sharing\n\nPrioritization: Ability to remain effective under pressure and manage multiple requests and competing priorities\n\nWhat We Offer:\nFully remote work at first, later in Sofia - hybrid (3 days from office) once the office is opened\n\nFlexible schedule: Plan your working day around collaboration with teams in the US Eastern Time Zone\n\nTechnical ownership: Take the lead on complex manufacturing challenges and help shape technical decisions\n\nLeadership impact: Mentor engineers, share your expertise, and improve the way the team works\n\nInternational collaboration: Work with colleagues, customers, and manufacturing partners across markets\n\nCompany-provided equipment: laptop\n\nHoliday calendar: EU or local holidays, depending on your location\n\nHoliday Calendar:\nEU or local holiday calendar\n\nXometry is an equal opportunity employer.
