Xometry’s digital marketplace gives manufacturers the critical resources they need to grow their business while also making it easy for buyers at Fortune 1000 companies to tap into global manufacturing capacity.\nIn this role, you will analyze CAD models and technical drawings, assess manufacturability, calculate costs, and provide DFM feedback to ensure accurate and timely quoting for our customers.\nThis position combines deep technical expertise in manufacturing processes with strong analytical and communication skills.\nHow You’ll Contribute:\nAnalyze drawings and CAD models (in English)\n\nCalculate manufacturing costs (materials, machining hours, post-processing)\n\nProvide recommendations on manufacturing processes where needed\n\nDocument and transfer calculations to the Sales/Commercial team\n\nReview 3D models and 2D drawings for quoting and manufacturability feedback\n\nOrganize RFQs and clarify details with Sales and Engineering teams\n\nMaintain quote databases and ensure timely updates\n\nDeliver high-quality and accurate quotes ideally within 1-2 working hours\n\nSupport process automation initiatives and workflow optimization\n\nWhat You’ll Bring to Xometry:\nEducation: Higher technical education (Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, or similar)\n\nExperience: 6+ years of experience in metalworking / mechanical engineering\n\nTechnical Expertise: Expert knowledge of machining and fabrication processes - turning, milling, CNC machining, EDM, laser/waterjet/plasma cutting, sheet metal processing, and welding\n\nPost-Processing Knowledge: Understanding of post-processing methods - polishing, hardening, heat treatment, anodizing, sand/shot blasting, coatings, and painting\n\nMaterials Knowledge: Knowledge of different materials (metals, plastics, composites) and their processing properties\n\nLanguage: English level B2+\n\nCustomer Focus: Customer-oriented mindset and ability to clearly explain technical details\n\nAttention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to work under time pressure\n\nTechnical Fluency: IT-enthusiast, ready to adopt modern tools and software (CAD/CAM, CRM, cloud systems)\n\nCore Technical Expertise:\nTechnical drawing interpretation - proficiency 5/5\n\nTooling & fixture design for machining, assembly, and welding - proficiency 3/5\n\nManufacturing processes expertise (laser/waterjet cutting, turning, milling, grinding, EDM, sheet metal fabrication) - proficiency 5/5\n\nCoatings and heat treatment - proficiency 3/5\n\nLabor intensity and manufacturability assessment - proficiency 5/5\n\nCAM programming for CNC (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CypCut) - proficiency 3/5, with readiness for further training\n\nWork Conditions:\nFull-time remote work (home office), later hybrid (3 days from office) once the office is opened\n\n Flexible schedule aligned with the US Eastern Time Zone\n\nCompany-provided desktop PC and monitor\n\nStable high-speed internet and comfortable workspace required\n\nHoliday Calendar:\nEU or local holiday \n\nXometry is an equal opportunity employer.
