Join us and be part of the movement shaping the next generation of commercial transportation.\n\nThe Role\nAt Xos, we're building innovative commercial electric vehicles and energy solutions, and we're looking for a hands-on Commissioning Technician to join our manufacturing team in Byrdstown, TN.\nAs a Commissioning Technician, you'll play an important role in ensuring our commercial vehicle chassis and energy products, including the Xos HUB, are functioning properly and meet our quality standards before leaving production. This position involves testing mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting issues, working with industrial control panels, and installing and uploading software to support the commissioning process.\nWe're looking for someone with a strong mechanical and electrical background who enjoys hands-on problem-solving, has experience working with testing equipment, and takes pride in ensuring products operate safely and reliably.\nResponsibilities\nPerform commissioning and end-of-line testing of commercial vehicle chassis, energy products, and related systems according to established procedures and quality standards.\nVerify proper installation and functionality of mechanical and electrical components, wiring, control panels, and related systems.\nConduct electrical testing using diagnostic tools and testing equipment to verify system operation and identify issues.\nInstall and upload approved software, perform basic system configuration, and complete functionality checks according to established procedures.\nTest electrical control systems, including industrial control panels, relays, and related components.\nIdentify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system-related issues, escalating more complex problems as needed.\nPerform testing and verification of components and subassemblies throughout the production process.\nDocument test results, defects, and malfunctions, and assist with corrective actions as needed.\nComplete commissioning checklists, test reports, and other required production documentation.\nWork closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.\nFollow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.\nAdditional duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in manufacturing, electrical systems, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred.\n4+ years of experience in manufacturing, electrical assembly, equipment testing, commissioning, or a related technical environment.\nHands-on experience with electrical wiring, industrial control panels, relays, or related electrical components preferred.\nFamiliarity with electrical testing, diagnostic tools, and troubleshooting procedures.\nExperience with software installation, uploading approved software, or basic equipment configuration preferred.\nStrong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment or system issues.\nAbility to follow established commissioning procedures, work instructions, and testing checklists.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.\nGood problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.\nWillingness to learn new commissioning procedures, software tools, and testing processes.\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\nExcellent attendance and punctuality.\n Must be available to work 1st shift, currently scheduled Monday through Thursday (6am - 4:30pm)\n Ability and willingness to work overtime, including Fridays, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support production requirements.\nPhysical Demands\nWhile performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods. The position may require working underneath commercial vehicle chassis, accessing components in confined or difficult-to-reach areas, and performing tasks in various physical positions. The role also requires regular use of hands and fingers to operate testing equipment, tools, and other components while performing commissioning and inspection tasks.\nEmployees are required to lift, push, pull, and carry materials, components, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Assistance or lifting equipment may be provided for heavier or oversized items as needed.\nWork Environment\nThis position is performed in a manufacturing environment, where employees may work at commissioning stations, on production lines, or in and around commercial vehicle chassis, energy products, and other manufacturing equipment. The work environment may involve exposure to noise, moving machinery, electrical systems, and varying temperatures.
