You write code that is thoughtful end-to-end - from the API contract down to the database, and from the data model up through the UI. You're comfortable owning features across the stack and collaborating closely with backend, frontend, QA, and DevOps engineers to deliver high-quality software.\nOur Tech Stack\nFrontend: React (Vite), MUI, JavaScript \nTesting: Jest, ESLint, Prettier, Storybook, Playwright, K6 \nBackend: Node.js, AWS (ECS, RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito, SQS, EventBridge) \nDevOps: Bitbucket Pipelines, Terraform \nPayments: Worldpay, Stripe, Apple Pay / Google Pay \nResponsibilities & Duties\nExecute the full software development lifecycle across both backend services and frontend interfaces \nDesign and build well-tested, well-documented features that span APIs, data models, and UI \nProduce technical specifications and assess operational feasibility for new payments features \nIntegrate components into cohesive, production-ready systems with appropriate observability \nContribute to verification plans, quality assurance procedures, and deployment guardrails \nMaintain and improve existing functionality, including documentation \nParticipate in deployment planning, on-call rotations, and incident response as part of running a payments platform \nUse AI-assisted development tools effectively to improve velocity without compromising quality \nStay current with platform updates, security practices, and PCI compliance requirements \n What would make you a good candidate?\nWe are looking for curious and empathetic people. We are inspired by meeting big-picture thinkers and doers, people who can be both tactical and strategic, aim high and put people first in everything they do.\nYou'll need:\n4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a Computer Science/Engineering degree or equivalent \nStrong Node.js experience and demonstrated ability to ship production backend services \nExperience building React-based frontends that consume RESTful APIs \nExperience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices \nWorking knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and clear understanding of separation of concerns in service design \nHands-on experience with AWS or a comparable cloud platform \nExperience with CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or similar) \nProficiency with Git, agile delivery (Scrum preferred), and testing frameworks like Jest \nFluency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) and an articulate point of view on where they help and where they don't \nComfortable working on a 100% remote team and able to operate independently within an agile group \nIt would be great if you also have:\nExperience building or operating payments systems - payment orchestration, tokenization, acquirer integrations (Worldpay, Stripe, Adyen, Finix, Basis Theory), or PCI-compliant environments \nFamiliarity with event-driven architectures (SQS, EventBridge, Kafka) \nExposure to observability tooling (SigNoz, Grafana, Datadog, etc.) \nInfrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform) \nAt Xplor, we believe that the best innovation and ideas happen at the intersections of our differences - people of diverse cultures, generations, disciplines, and lived experiences.
