Python Developer

Responsibilities:

• End-to-end delivery work across the full software development life cycle: requirement gathering, analysis, development, review and testing.
• Build scalable services, designing applications and services on modern, cutting-edge technology.
• API engineering: build and maintain extensible, performant APIs.
• Own and code a feature from end to end and drive it independently to production.
• Estimation and planning: carry out requirement gathering and ETA assessment; groom and create stories with the team.
• Architecture and standards lead architectural decisions and implementation; establish and promote coding guidelines, best practices and design standards.
• Collaboration and innovation interact with cross-functional teams and bring innovation to the product.

Requirements:

• Python: strong hands-on Python with solid object-orientated programming, writing unit tests and debugging/improving application performance.
• REST APIs (Django Ninja): building performant REST APIs using Django Ninja on the Django framework (Django REST Framework).
• Back-end engineering: 6+ years as a back-end / full-stack engineer with general-purpose programming languages.
• Quality discipline unit testing and code-review rigour.
• Education: Full-time IT / engineering degree, preferably computer science.

Nice to have:

• Kubernetes: deploying and running applications on Kubernetes.
• Observability Datadog or an equivalent monitoring tool (Grafana, New Relic, Splunk, etc).
• SQL: working knowledge of SQL.
• Client-side exposure: some front-end / client-side application experience.
