We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to audit and rebuild that CAD data, get it aligned with how boats are actually produced, and then move on to design work on X Shore's next-generation boat platform.\nThis is a hands-on role in two phases. First, you'll dig into existing CAD, correct what's out of sync with production, and work closely with the shop floor to close the gap between design intent and built reality. Once that foundation is solid, you'll shift into forward-looking platform design for future boats. You'll report to the Mechanical Engineering & Analysis Manager and be based on-site in Nyköping.\nKey Responsibilities\nAudit existing CAD models and assemblies for accuracy, completeness, and structure\n\nRebuild or correct CAD data that no longer reflects what's actually being built in production\n\nAlign CAD assemblies and drawings with current production reality, working directly with the shop floor\n\nIdentify and resolve discrepancies between design intent and manufactured parts\n\nMaintain clean, well-structured CAD/PDM practices going forward\n\nSupport production with drawings, tolerances, and design clarifications during rework and manufacturing\n\nOnce alignment work is complete, contribute to the design and detailing of X Shore's next-generation boat platform\n\nCollaborate with electrical, production, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure designs are manufacturable\n\nRequired Qualifications\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience\n\n3-5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in a manufacturing environment\n\nExpert-level SOLIDWORKS proficiency - this is a must-have, including assemblies, drawings, and PDM\n\nDemonstrated experience auditing, cleaning up, or rebuilding CAD data and assemblies\n\nComfortable working directly with production to resolve build discrepancies\n\nFluent in English; Swedish is a plus\n\nAbility to work on-site in Nyköping\n\nDesirable Qualifications\nExperience with composites and/or metals typical of marine or automotive manufacturing\n\nBackground in boat building, automotive, or another complex hardware environment\n\nFamiliarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis\n\nExperience contributing to a new product platform from early concept through release\n\nPersonal Qualities\nDetail-oriented and methodical, comfortable untangling messy legacy data without losing momentum. Equally at home on the shop floor verifying fit as at a CAD workstation. Takes ownership, follows through, and communicates clearly across engineering and production.\nSuccess Metrics (First 12 Months)\nCAD data and assemblies for existing boats are audited, corrected, and aligned with what's built in production\n\nProduction has accurate, trustworthy drawings and models to work from\n\nDiscrepancies between design and manufactured parts are identified and resolved\n\nMeaningful contribution made to next-generation boat platform design\n\nLocation & Structure\nOn-site at X Shore Factory & HQ, Nyköping.
