This is a great opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, customer engagement and commercial delivery, helping develop solutions for some of the UK water industry's most important wastewater treatment challenges.\nWorking as part of a collaborative technical and commercial team, you'll develop technical and commercial proposals for wastewater treatment applications, supporting projects from initial customer requirements and site assessment through to solution design, equipment selection, costing and proposal.\nWhat you'll be doing\nDevelop technical and commercial proposals for moderate to complex wastewater treatment solutions.\nDesign and select solutions across Xylem's treatment portfolio.\nPrepare techno-commercial offers and tender submissions for projects serving UK water utilities.\nTranslate customer requirements, site conditions and applicable standards, including WIMES, into practical engineered solutions.\nSelect appropriate equipment and materials and support project costing, pricing and commercial development.\nGenerate high-quality customer proposals using standard engineering and commercial tools, ensuring appropriate internal approvals are obtained.\nWork closely with internal Sales Managers to deliver proposals against customer and project timelines.\nJoin commercial colleagues on customer site visits where technical appraisals or feasibility studies are required.\nPrepare, coordinate and review technical submittals for customers, consultants, contractors and tenders.\nIdentify opportunities to bring together multiple Xylem technologies to provide integrated, end-to-end treatment solutions.\nSupport continuous improvement in the way we design, cost, price and deliver engineered solutions and longer-term performance contracts.\nProvide technical expertise during customer meetings, negotiations, presentations and training activities.\nWe're looking for someone who combines strong engineering capability with a commercial and customer-focused mindset.\nIdeally, you'll bring:\nAn engineering qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Process Engineering, or another relevant discipline.\nExperience within wastewater treatment, water technology, process engineering or a related industry.\nKnowledge of wastewater treatment would be advantageous.\nExperience developing technical proposals, quotations, tenders or engineered solutions.\nThe ability to understand customer requirements and turn them into technically sound, commercially viable solutions.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.\nCommercial awareness and an understanding of project costing and pricing.\nConfidence working with customers, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.\nA collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across engineering, sales and commercial teams.\nExperience of UK water utility projects and WIMES requirements would be particularly valuable, although we would also be interested in engineers from adjacent process industries who are keen to develop their career within water and wastewater treatment.\n#LI-Hybrid\nJoin the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
