The role also performs field service at customer sites, including troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems as required by the assigned role and customer.\nWhat your day will look like as a Driver Technician\nYou’ll transport materials and equipment between locations and perform field service work at customer sites. You’ll troubleshoot systems, identify and address safety issues involving company- and customer-owned equipment, and communicate directly with customers. Assignments may involve multiple sites and technologies. Critical thinking, safe work practices, and clear communication are essential. Depending on the division and location, the role may require frequent travel and overnight stays away from home.\nCore Responsibilities and Tasks\nSafely operate a DOT-regulated vehicle to transport materials and equipment.\nPerform field service activities at customer sites in a safe and efficient manner.\nTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems, depending on the assigned role and customer requirements.\nIdentify and address safety issues involving company- and customer-owned equipment.\nInterface directly with customers and work across multiple sites or technologies as needed.\nCreate and maintain a safe working environment and culture.\nTake care of company property.\nDemonstrate a high-impact culture through innovation, accountability, and empowerment.\nWork effectively as part of a team and independently when needed.\nPosition Requirements\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nAbility to obtain a Class A or Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL) with applicable endorsements.\nAbility to obtain required customer clearances, such as TWIC or DISA, and a DOT medical card.\nClean driving record.\n0-2 years of technical work experience; 1 year preferred.\nAbility to drive overnight and navigate difficult routes.\nAbility to cross borders and obtain a valid passport.\nUnderstanding of weight requirements and weight distribution.\nTechnical experience in electrical, mechanical, diesel, or fusion work, depending on the business unit.\nAbility to work without direct supervision and apply sound technical judgment.\nExperience with Microsoft Office and smart devices.\nCustomer service experience.\nCritical-thinking and troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to synthesize technical information and communicate it clearly.\nAbility to use customer experience and insight to solve problems, including novel or unexpected issues.\nAdditional Details\n Travel requirements: 20%-80%, depending on division and location; overnight stays away from home may be required.\nMust be able to function in a team environment.
