Xylem is an American water technology company separated from ITT in 2011 that makes the pumps, treatment systems, meters and analytics used to move, treat and measure water. Its most strategically interesting business is measurement and control: smart water meters and network monitoring that let a utility find leaks, since a substantial share of treated water is lost in distribution before reaching anyone. Headquartered in Washington and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it acquired Evoqua in 2023 to add industrial water treatment, and its demand is driven by infrastructure renewal and water scarcity rather than by economic growth.

Xylem is a Fortune 500 global water solutions company dedicated to advancing sustainable impact and empowering the people who make water work every day.As a leading water technology company with 23,000 employeesoperatingin over 150 countries, Xylem is at the forefront of addressing the world's most critical water challenges. We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.

  • Oversee the preparation and quality of electrical design deliverables, ensuring designs meet customer, regulatory and company requirements.

  • Provide technical leadership across electrical equipment selection, specifications and procurement activities, including control panels, MCCs and transformer rectifiers.

  • Support proposal and project teams by providing technical guidance, reviewing scope documents and contributing to client-facing discussions.

  • Review and approve key engineering documentation, including:

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure process, control and electrical aspects are effectively coordinated.

  • Support manufacturing, installation, commissioning and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), acting as a technical representative for customers when required.

  • Drive quality assurance, document control and continuous improvement activities across the engineering function.

  • Ensure safe design principles are embedded throughout all projects, incorporating Human Factors Engineering and ergonomic considerations.

We're seeking a motivated engineering leader with a strong technical background and a passion for developing people.

Essential

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.

  • Proven experience in electrical design engineering within an industrial, process, manufacturing or engineered systems environment.

  • Experience leading, supervising or mentoring engineering teams.

  • Strong understanding of electrical design principles, equipment specification and technical review processes.

  • Ability to interpret complex technical documentation, specifications and engineering standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational and project prioritisation skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Proficiency with engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

  • Experience within water treatment, water technologies or process industries.

  • Knowledge of electrochlorination systems.

  • PLC programming experience.

  • Familiarity with ATEX, IECEx and HAZOP methodologies.

  • Experience working to major petrochemical specifications such as BP or Shell standards.

  • Understanding of manufacturing, installation and commissioning processes.

You'll be joining a business that delivers critical water treatment and technology solutions worldwide, providing an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while helping shape the future of a growing engineering team.

This role offers a unique combination of:

  • Technical leadership

  • Team development and mentoring

  • Client engagement

  • Project delivery responsibility

  • Career growth within a global engineering organisation

If you're ready to take the next step in your leadership career and make a tangible impact on innovative water technology projects, we'd love to hear from you.
