We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.\nXylem does not sponsor employment visas for this position and is unable to accept candidates requiring visa sponsorship or visa transfers.\nLocation: Morton Grove, IL\nSchedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday | First Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM\nThe Role\nWe're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support our Morton Grove manufacturing facility by improving safety, quality, productivity, and delivery performance while driving continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being on the production floor, solving complex manufacturing challenges, leading process improvements, and partnering with cross-functional teams to optimize operations.\nWhat You'll Do:\nDrive Manufacturing Excellence\nSupport manufacturing operations through process improvements, capital projects, and equipment optimization.\nDevelop efficient manufacturing processes, routings, tooling requirements, and production standards.\nAnalyze bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput, reduce waste, and increase productivity.\nMonitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and production performance metrics.\nImprove Quality and Reliability\nLead root cause investigations and corrective actions to improve quality and reduce defects.\nDevelop and maintain PFMEAs, process control plans, and risk mitigation activities.\nSupport ISO 9001, UL, ASME, and other regulatory and quality audits.\nPartner with Quality and Operations teams to improve process capability and manufacturing performance.\nLead Continuous Improvement\nFacilitate Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping initiatives.\nConduct time studies, establish production standards, and support labor optimization efforts.\nDrive waste reduction, scrap reduction, and cost-saving initiatives.\nSupport engineering change management activities, including ECRs and ECNs.\nSupport New Products and Capital Projects\nAssist with equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and validation.\nSupport product development, pilot builds, first article inspections, and product transfer activities.\nReview engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to ensure manufacturability.\nWhat You’ll Bring:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.\n2 - 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in machining, assembly, welding, or industrial manufacturing environments.\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.\nAbility to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.\nKnowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and manufacturing best practices.\nExperience collaborating with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams.\nPreferred:\nLean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.\nExperience with CNC machining, manufacturing testing, and process optimization.\n3D CAD or SolidWorks experience.\nExperience in engineer-to-order or highly customized manufacturing environments.\nExperience in a union manufacturing environment.\nAutomotive, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience.\nThe estimated salary range for this position is $80k to $90k base plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
