We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.\nXylem does not sponsor employment visas for this position and is unable to accept candidates requiring visa sponsorship or visa transfers.\nLocation: Cheektowaga, NY\nSchedule: Onsite, Monday to Friday | First Shift\nThe Role\nAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting the production of industry-leading Heat Transfer products while driving innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations.\nThis is an opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges, optimizing processes, implementing new technologies, and collaborating closely with production teams to make a measurable impact every day.\nWhat You'll Do:\nAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you will serve as a key technical resource, partnering with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and Engineering teams to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.\nDrive Process Excellence\nDevelop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve throughput, reduce cycle times, and eliminate waste\nLead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies\nCreate and maintain manufacturing documentation, including routings, BOMs, standard work instructions, WPS/PQRs, and process specifications\nEnsure compliance with ISO standards and internal quality requirements\nLead Manufacturing Improvements\nConduct time studies and analyze production data to improve efficiency and establish standard costs\nDevelop business cases and capital expenditure proposals for equipment and process improvements\nLead the implementation of new manufacturing equipment, automation, and facility improvements\nSupport plant layout optimization and capacity expansion initiatives\nAdvance Automation & Technology\nDesign and implement tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions that improve safety and productivity\nDevelop and support CNC programs and robotic welding applications\nEvaluate and introduce new manufacturing technologies and best practices\nTrain operators on new processes, equipment, and tooling\nSolve Complex Manufacturing Challenges\nInvestigate production, quality, and equipment issues using structured problem-solving techniques\nImplement sustainable corrective actions and process improvements\nMonitor process performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement\nProvide technical support to production and manufacturing leadership teams\nCollaborate Across the Organization\nPartner with unionized production teams to successfully implement process improvements\nWork closely with Quality, Planning, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to achieve operational goals\nParticipate in daily production meetings focused on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity\nSupport effective communication and training related to manufacturing changes\nWhat You’ll Bring:\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field\n3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience (co-op and internship experience will be considered)\nExperience applying Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies\nStrong technical documentation and process-writing skills\nExperience working with ERP systems (AS400 preferred)\nProficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar platforms\nPreferred :\nExperience with CNC programming and machining processes\nRobotic welding programming and automation experience\nExperience supporting fabricated, welded, or heavy industrial products\nKnowledge of capital project management and manufacturing equipment implementation\nExperience working in a unionized manufacturing environment\nThe estimated salary range for this position is $73K to $85K base plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
