In this role, you'll lead the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of packaging solutions for industrial pumps and related products, ensuring they arrive safely, efficiently, and sustainably to customers around the world.\nIf you enjoy combining engineering, project management, process improvement, and sustainability initiatives, this is an excellent opportunity to make a measurable impact.\nWhat You'll Do:\nDesign and standardize packaging solutions for Make-to-Stock (MTS), Configure-to-Order (CTO), and Engineer-to-Order (ETO) products.\nDevelop packaging specifications, work instructions, SOPs, and packaging standards.\nDesign pallets, crates, skids, and protective packaging for industrial pumps and components.\nLead packaging improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.\nPartner with suppliers to develop innovative packaging solutions and improve material performance.\nInvestigate shipping damage, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.\nEnsure packaging meets customer requirements, transportation regulations, export requirements, and industry standards.\nDrive sustainability efforts through material optimization and waste reduction programs.\nLead cross-functional projects involving Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Service.\nDevelop training programs and provide technical guidance to manufacturing and shipping teams.\nWhat You'll Bring:\nBachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.\n2-5 years of packaging engineering experience in industrial manufacturing, heavy equipment, pumps, machinery, motors, or related industries.\nExperience designing packaging solutions for products ranging from small components to large industrial equipment.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.\nKnowledge of packaging materials including corrugated packaging, wood crating, pallets, foams, and protective packaging systems.\nExperience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.\nKnowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and manufacturing processes.\nStrong project management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nLean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.\nCertified Packaging Professional (CPP) certification.\nExperience with export packaging, international shipments, and transportation regulations.\nKnowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software.\nExperience in Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environments.\nExperience in a union manufacturing environment.\nExperience with Value Stream Mapping and Lean transformation initiatives.\nThe estimated salary range for this position is $85k to $90k base plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
