We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.\nWe are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant that will be a member of Xylem's Shared Services Accounting Team (AAC) to support the month-end close process, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple business units. This role will play a critical part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records while ensuring compliance with SOX requirements and company accounting policies.\nThe ideal candidate will possess strong general ledger expertise, experience with month-end close activities, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, shared services or multi-entity environment. Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, BlackLine, and OneStream is highly desirable.\nThis role will be based in our Charlotte, NC office and work a hybrid (in office 3 days per week) schedule.\nSenior Accountant Responsibilities:\nPrepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in support of month-end closing activities for multiple business units, ensuring proper documentation is obtainedAccruals and pre-paid journal entries\nInter-company balancing, adjustments and reconciliation\nPayroll, severance, employee benefit and tax related journal entries\nJournal entry submissions in Blackline, SAP & Winshuttle Evolve\n\nPrepare and maintain schedules, roll-forwards, reporting templates, and other accounting support files.\nReconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger identifying out of balances and their causes, resolving the possibility of future issues\nRespond to accounting and general ledger inquiries from business partners.\nProvide documentation and support of entries to assist with interim and annual audits requests for both internal and external partners.\nAssist with ad hoc projects and analyses as requested\nMaintain documentation supporting Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.\nConsistently evaluate areas for process improvement.\nIdentify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency through standardization, automation, and best practices.\nAbility to adapt and effectively interact with teams at different states and facilities\nSenior Accountant Qualifications: \nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or related field\n3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience\nMust possess strong analytical skills and working knowledge of the general ledger. \nCompetency with advanced Microsoft Excel functions\nExperience with Oracle, SAP ECC6/S4 or other ERP accounting systems\nExperience with BlackLine, OneStream, or similar financial close and reconciliation tools.\nExperience working in a shared services environment is preferred.\nKnowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks preferred.\nExperience in manufacturing is a plus.\nAbility to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.\nCPA certification or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.\nXYLEM DOES NOT PROVIDE SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS POSITION.\nThe estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
