The role involves mechanical design, engineering analysis, prototyping, validation, and collaboration with global cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective product solutions.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduct Design & Development\nDevelop product concepts, layouts, and detailed designs.\nCreate and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Creo or equivalent CAD tools.\nPrepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).\nEnsure designs meet performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements.\nEngineering Analysis\nPerform engineering calculations and design evaluations.\nConduct or coordinate FEA, CFD, tolerance stack-up, and structural analyses.\nVerify reliability, bearing life, shaft deflection, sealing arrangements, and product safety requirements.\nProject Execution\nSupport projects from concept through prototype, validation, and production release.\nPrepare project plans, identify technical risks, and drive mitigation actions.\nManage engineering deliverables and meet committed schedules.\nCross-functional Collaboration\nCoordinate with Hydraulic, CFD, FEA, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Testing teams.\nSupport supplier discussions and resolve technical issues.\nParticipate in design reviews and stage-gate processes.\nValidation & Product Launch\nSupport prototype builds, testing, validation, and field trials.\nAnalyze test results and implement corrective design actions.\nSupport product launch and transition to manufacturing.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nExperience in product design and development, preferably pumps, rotating equipment, or industrial products.\nProficiency in CAD tools (Creo preferred).\nKnowledge of FEA, CFD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials, castings, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.\nFamiliarity with PLM systems such as Windchill.\nDesired Skills\nStrong problem-solving and analytical abilities.\nUnderstanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems.\nEffective communication and collaboration with global teams.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects.\nKey Deliverables\nConcept Designs\n3D CAD Models\nEngineering Drawings\nBOMs\nDesign Calculations\nFEA/CFD Reports\nValidation Reports\nECN/ECR Documentation\nManufacturing Release Packages\nJoin the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
