Our technology, The Atom, is used on major projects worldwide to help construction teams build more accurately, efficiently and with fewer mistakes.\nAs a Series B business scaling across the UK, US and Europe, the infrastructure behind our technology needs to scale with us.\nWe're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of the cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices powering our BIM Platform, working across cloud, container and CI/CD platforms, observability, security and developer tooling.\nThe Role\nThis is a hands-on senior engineering role with broad ownership across our cloud and platform infrastructure.\nYou’ll work closely with our Engineering, Data and Security teams to build reliable, scalable infrastructure while improving how our developers deploy, monitor and troubleshoot their services.\nWe want DevOps to be an enabler rather than a gatekeeper. That means building the tooling, automation and self-service capabilities that allow engineering teams to move quickly and safely without creating unnecessary dependencies on DevOps.\nYou’ll have the autonomy to identify where our infrastructure and engineering practices can improve and take ownership of making those improvements happen.\nThe role is based in our London office on a hybrid basis, with 3 days per week in the office.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nArchitect, maintain and evolve our cloud infrastructure and container platforms.\n\nBuild and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management.\n\nDesign and improve CI/CD pipelines for fast, safe and repeatable deployments.\n\nBuild observability across infrastructure and services: monitoring, logging, alerting and distributed tracing.\n\nImprove reliability, scalability and performance through capacity planning, autoscaling and resource optimisation.\n\nOwn resilience, including backup, recovery and failover.\n\nOwn infrastructure security across our platform.\n\nEvolve incident response, on-call practices, runbooks and blameless post-mortems.\n\nWork with our Data team to support reliable, scalable relational and document databases.\n\nBuild self-service tooling, templates and documentation that reduce reliance on DevOps.\n\nSupport infrastructure for data pipelines and AI/ML model deployment.\n\nPartner directly with developers on deployment, troubleshooting and infrastructure best practices.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nWe’re looking for a strong, hands-on DevOps Engineer who is comfortable owning complex infrastructure and operating across a broad technical environment.\nYou’ll ideally have:\nDemonstrable in-depth experience in DevOps, Infrastructure or Cloud Engineering.\n\nStrong hands-on experience with a major public cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP).\n\nDeep experience running container orchestration platforms in production.\n\nStrong Infrastructure-as-Code experience with modern tooling.\n\nExperience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).\n\nStrong experience with containers and Docker.\n\nExperience with monitoring, logging, alerting and observability in production.\n\nGood knowledge of infrastructure security best practice.\n\nExperience building automation in Python, Go, Bash or TypeScript.\n\nStrong troubleshooting skills and ownership of production infrastructure and incidents.\n\nThe ability to make pragmatic decisions and explain infrastructure trade-offs.\n\nExperience with high-availability infrastructure, relational or document databases, AI/ML infrastructure, ETL/data pipelines, FinOps or certified/regulated environments would be a bonus.\nAbove all, we’re looking for someone who enjoys automating away problems rather than repeatedly solving them manually.
