We care about results, not about when you’re online.\nWHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:\nRedesigning the scalability and stability of our backend with RabbitMQ, Scala and Akka\nThe infrastructure around it: OpenTofu, Ansible, Kubernetes\nFixing bugs across SAFEQ Cloud and SAFEQ 6\nOccasional mobile work: Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift)\nPresenting increments to other teams and stakeholders\nUsing AI tools as a normal part of your daily development\nWHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:\nMedior-level experience or more\nSolid OOP experience in Java, Scala, C# or a similar language\nHands-on experience using AI in your development work\nBasic QA knowledge: testing your code and knowing how to verify it works\nAwareness of cloud: AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code\nReadiness to work across different projects, components and technologies\nWillingness to present your work to people outside the team\nFluent Czech or Slovak and working English\nNice to have:\n Scala or functional programming experience\nHands-on AWS (or another cloud provider), Kubernetes, IaC\nSwitching context without losing your mind\nWorking well both on your own and in a team\nTech we use:\n Backend: Scala, Akka, Java\nMessaging: RabbitMQ\nInfrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, OpenTofu, Ansible\nMobile: Kotlin (Android), Swift (iOS)\nDevelopment: AI-assisted development\nABOUT US:\nWe’re Cirrus, a team of seven engineers based in Brno. We meet in the office once a week. The rest of the time we work remotely, with an open Teams call running all day for whoever wants to jump in. \nIt’s not all greenfield, and we won’t pretend it is. Alongside the platform work, we fix production bugs, handle the DevOps around our services and now and then dive into the mobile apps. \nWorking remotely is fine with us. We’d just like you to come to Brno 2-3 times a month at the start, and at least once a month after that. \nWe’re an easy-going bunch and sometimes go out together after work. We also have a coffee subscription and a foosball table. We have our priorities straight.
