This role involves owning the architecture and maintaining the reliability of the platform on which all Yalo products and AI agents operate. You will work closely with various teams to integrate new systems and features, ensuring seamless functionality across our channels and messaging pipeline.\nResponsibilities:\nOwn the architecture of Core Services, including channel and webhook pipeline, accounts, identity, and entitlements.\nLead technical delivery, scope work, unblock engineers, and review designs and code.\nUtilize AI coding agents for implementation, testing, and review, while maintaining high PR throughput.\nEnsure reliability and observability with clear team ownership, dashboards, alerts, and on-call incident response.\nLead platform migrations and govern event and message schemas safely.\nIntegrate external platform changes and manage billing and credits models.\nMonitor costs and collaborate with DevOps to optimize spending and reduce waste.\nMentor team members, set standards, and document design reviews.\nCollaborate cross-functionally to align platform capabilities with product needs.\nRequired Skills:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.\n8+ years in building and operating back-end services with staff-level engineering or tech lead experience.\nProficient in Go, Python, SQL, and strong experience in microservices and API development.\nExpertise in event-driven architectures and Kafka.\nExperience with GCP, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.\nStrong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design.\nExperience with identity, authentication, and authorization systems.\nHands-on experience with AI coding agents and maintaining high PR throughput.\nProficiency in observability and reliability practices.\nProblem-solving skills in fast-growing platforms with unclear ownership.\nPreferred Skills:\nExperience with messaging channel APIs like WhatsApp Business or Meta Cloud API.\nKnowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, and schema governance.\nExperience with billing, metering, or usage-based pricing systems.\nPrevious role as a tech lead or engineering manager of a small team.\nAt Yalo, we are dedicated to creating a workplace that embodies our core values: caring, initiative, excellence, and simplicity.
