We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Term Mining Engineer to join our growing team. Employees of Yarrabee Coal pride themselves on their constant commitment to safety, focus on teamwork, supportive work culture and continuous improvement through innovation.\nJob Tasks and Responsibilities\nThe Mid-Term Mining Engineer will be responsible for assisting with preparation of the mid (2-5 years) term engineering functions providing accurate and timely responses to enable production, exploration and reporting outcomes to be met. The position is part of the Mine Planning team and requires effective communication across all Departments at Yarrabee Coal Mine.\nDevelop and maintain rolling 2-5 year mine plans to support safe and efficient coal production.\nDesign and optimise pits, ramps and spoil dumps to maximise operational outcomes.\nPrepare production forecasts, schedules and budgets to support business objectives.\nPartner with Operations to ensure mining activities align with approved designs and plans.\nCollaborate with Environmental teams to ensure plans meet approval, permitting and rehabilitation requirements.\nManage and coordinate technical consultants and contractors to deliver quality outcomes.\nLiaise with Corporate Planning, Marketing and Exploration teams to align mine plans with strategic and commercial targets.\nProvide technical advice and engineering support to operational and technical stakeholders across site.\nMentor and support developing engineers while fostering a culture of safety, collaboration and continuous improvement.\nSkills and Experience\nQualifications\nBachelor of Engineering (Mining or Civil)\nSkills\nWell-developed verbal and written communication skills\nHigh level analytical and problem-solving skills\nWell-developed skills in mine design and scheduling\nWell-developed skills pertaining to mining software packages and engineering practices is necessary (Vulcan, Deswik, Spry)\nSkilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues\nExperience\nExperienced in the provision of engineering applications within an open cut mining environment\nExperienced in maintaining communication across a number of departments\nBenefits\nYancoal provides a range of benefits to appeal to the diverse needs of our employees.
