To learn more about what it's like to work at Yancoal check out our LinkedIn page.\nJob Tasks and Responsibilities\nReporting to the Audit Manager, you will play a key role in delivering risk-based internal audits, advancing audit analytics capabilities, and providing valuable insights that support effective governance, risk management and control across the business. Responsibilities include:\nLeading and executing internal audits across the full audit lifecycle, including planning, scoping, risk assessment, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up activities.\nApplying a risk-based audit approach in accordance with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), COSO Internal Control Framework, SOX requirements and relevant auditing standards.\nEvaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes and risk management practices across operational, financial and corporate functions.\nDeveloping and maintaining Risk and Control Matrices (RACMs), process maps and audit documentation to a high professional standard.\nLeveraging advanced data analytics and automation tools, including Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query, Power Apps and Alteryx, to enhance audit effectiveness and efficiency.\nMaintaining and enhancing audit dashboards, automated controls testing and Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) to provide actionable business insights.\nAnalysing large and complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, control gaps and opportunities for improvement.\nUtilising SAP and other enterprise systems to assess business processes, data integrity and key system controls.\nPartnering with stakeholders across the business to understand risks, provide practical recommendations and support continuous improvement initiatives.\nPreparing clear, concise and high-quality audit reports that communicate findings, recommendations and key business risks.\nMonitoring and validating remediation actions to ensure agreed audit recommendations are effectively implemented.\nBuilding strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation while constructively challenging processes and practices to drive better business outcomes.\nContributing to the ongoing development of the Internal Audit function, including audit methodologies, analytics capabilities, tools and strategic initiatives.\nSupporting a culture of ethics, integrity, confidentiality and compliance in all audit activities.\nSkills and Experience\nTertiary qualification in accounting, business, finance, engineering, ICT, risk management or a related discipline.\nProfessional qualifications such as CA, CPA, CIA or CISA, or an engineering qualification combined with strong internal audit experience.\nCertification(s) in data analytics such as Alteryx Core certification, Azure / Power BI certifications.\nDemonstrated experience in data analytics and/or automation, including the use of tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query, Alteryx or similar platforms.\nPrior experience in an audit role (whether Corporate auditing or Consulting) or a strong business generalist with broad ranging work experience, enabling the application of business logic to undertake auditing.\nExperience working in complex and mature industries such as mining, metals, manufacturing, construction, utilities, logistics and / or FMCG environment (based on type of experience).\nExperience in risk management and / or controls testing.\nExperience utilising evolved and advanced ERP systems such as SAP and Basware.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and process improvement capabilities.\nHighly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills.\nStrong commercial acumen and ability to work independently.\nBenefits\nYancoal provides a range of benefits to appeal to the diverse needs of our employees.
