To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Checker Fixture Engineer in our plant in [[location]].\nPosition Mission: Responsible for the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of Checker Fixtures (C/F) for automotive wire harness testing. The role transforms product and testing requirements into robust, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that enable fast and accurate verification of continuity, pinning, electrical integrity, and component functionality. The position contributes to the creation of engineering standards, drives technical innovation, and supports the growth of a capability in Checker Fixture design and development.\nMain tasks & responsibilities:\nFixture Design & Development\nDesign new detection devices like electrical checker fixtures integrating mechanical and electrical systems.\nDefine and validate device functionality, ergonomics, and robustness.\nEnsure compliance with customer specifications and internal standards.\nSupport prototyping and testing phases to confirm performance.\nElectrical Integration\nCreate and maintain wiring diagrams and connector specifications.\nDefine signal routing and ensure proper electrical functionality.\nSelect appropriate components and materials for electrical systems.\nCollaborate with electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration.\nTechnical Guidance & Clarification\nProvide technical support to internal teams during design and build phases.\nClarify design intent and resolve technical queries.\nSupport cross-functional teams in understanding fixture requirements.\nQuality & Compliance\nEnsure fixtures meet functional and quality requirements.\nParticipate in design reviews and validation processes.\nSupport corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.\nRequirements:\nAcademic Background\nDegree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering\nTechnical Skills\nSolid knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel (advanced level).\nGood knowledge of CAD tools, electrical design software and fixture validation processes ((e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and electrical design tools (e.g., EPLAN)\nGood knowledge Signal Routing & Connector Specs (Capable of defining and implementing signal paths and connector interfaces).\nKnowledge of quality tools: FMEA, PDCA and 8D methodology.\nUnderstanding of automotive engineering standards and product change management processes.\nLanguages\nAdvanced English (spoken and written) and/or German.\nSoft Skills\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills for customer and stakeholder interaction.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.\nDynamism, resilience and self-discipline.\nStrong time-management and team-working skills.\nAvailability to travel if required.\nAt Yazaki, we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities for everyone which extends to all aspects of the employment relationship.\nWe are looking forward to receiving your application and to get to know you.
