We are currently seeking high potential candidates to join us as Engineering Project Leader, reporting directly to the area Team Manager.\nPosition Mission: Responsible for leading and coordinating engineering activities for assigned EDS programs, serving as the primary technical interface between the customer, engineering, manufacturing, and project teams. Ensures timely delivery of engineering solutions, release of high-quality designs, successful product launches, and achievement of program objectives in terms of quality, cost, and timing.\nMain tasks & responsibilities (organize by topics):\nProject & Portfolio Leadership\nLead engineering program activities, acting as the main technical interface with customers and coordinating engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.\nManage and coordinate EDS design development, engineering changes, design reviews, and technical issue resolution to ensure quality and on-time release.\nDrive cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, suppliers and project teams to ensure successful implementation of product and process changes.\nSupport prototype, pre-production and launch activities, ensuring build readiness, issue resolution and alignment with program timing plans.\nMonitor program risks, opportunities, costs and engineering status, providing regular updates and recommendations to Program Management.\nEnsure compliance with engineering processes, quality standards and Design for Manufacturing requirements while promoting continuous improvement initiatives.\nPlan, facilitate and track engineering functional and cross-functional reviews, ensuring completion of deliverables and adherence to program milestones.\nTeam Management & Capability Development\nInteract and collaborate with various stakeholders including customers (OEMs), CSC and manufacturing plants.\nEnsure effective information sharing among department members and cross-functional teams.\nPromote improvement activities related to engineering product development and definition.\nPromote team development, continuous improvement and consistent application of project management best practices.\nBusiness & Resource Management\nPerform administrative tasks to control the complete engineering process and workflow.\nMonitor and report project progress, risks and issues, escalating where necessary.\nEnsure adherence to agreed deadlines with customers and internal stakeholders.\nContribute to project acquisition processes by providing accurate planning, risk assessment and resource insights.\nRequirements:\nAcademic Background\nUniversity degree in Engineering or Project Management.\nTechnical Skills\nGood knowledge of GPMS and Product Development processes.\nStrong analytical background.\nProficiency in MS Office; Microsoft Project is considered a strong plus.\nLanguages\nAdvanced English (spoken and written) and/or German.\nSoft Skills\nLeadership skills with ability to guide and develop a multidisciplinary team.\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy.\nExcellent communication, moderation and analytical skills.\nDynamism, resilience and self-discipline.\nStrong time-management and team-working skills.\nAvailability to travel if required.\nAt Yazaki, we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities for everyone which extends to all aspects of the employment relationship.\nWe are looking forward to receiving your application and to get to know you.
