Guided by our Harmony Care approach, we foster a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for residents, families, staff, and the community.\nWe are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Facility Manager to lead the operations of our Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance departments and ensure the ongoing safety, functionality, and appearance of our long-term care home.\nAbout the Role\nReporting to the Executive Director, the Facility Manager is responsible for the leadership, planning, administration, and operational performance of facility services, including housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, building systems, and environmental safety. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with applicable legislation, standards, and organizational policies while supporting a resident-centred environment.\nThis role also plays a key leadership function in facility improvement projects, including both major and minor renovations.\nKey Responsibilities\nPlan, direct, and oversee housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance operations to maintain a safe, sanitary, attractive, and compliant environment.\nDevelop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for building systems and equipment.\nConduct regular interior and exterior building inspections.\nEnsure compliance with applicable legislation, building standards, fire and life safety requirements, and organizational policies.\nLead departmental staffing activities, including recruitment, scheduling, coaching, performance management, and staff development.\nFoster a positive, engaged, and high-performing team culture.\nDevelop and manage departmental budgets, expenditures, inventory, and resource utilization.\nParticipate in quality improvement, risk management, resident safety, and workplace health and safety initiatives.\nDevelop and maintain departmental policies and procedures, including those related to fire safety, emergency preparedness, infection prevention and control, and occupational health and safety.\nResearch, negotiate, and manage contracts for equipment, maintenance services, housekeeping, and laundry supplies.\nMaintain accurate inspection records, certifications, and documentation required by regulatory authorities.\nParticipate in renovation and capital improvement projects, including reviewing construction drawings and coordinating project activities.\nProvide emergency response and on-call support for building maintenance, safety, and security matters.\nParticipate as a member of the home's security response team.\nAttend and lead departmental and organizational meetings as required.\nStay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nHold a college-level \"Building Environmental System Operator - Class II\" certificate.\nPossess general maintenance and hands-on skills.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills in English.\nKnowledge of Chinese languages is strongly preferred.\nValid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.\nSatisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check.\nWorking Conditions\nCombination of office, facility, and on-site operational work.\nStanding, walking, lifting, bending, and physical activity as required.\nExposure to varying environmental conditions including heat, humidity, noise, and mechanical equipment.\nParticipation in an on-call rotation and availability for 24-hour emergency response related to maintenance, safety, and security matters.\nOccasional travel between locations and external sites.\nWhy Join Yee Hong?\nMeaningful work that positively impacts the lives of seniors and their families.\nOpportunity to lead a critical operational function within a respected not-for-profit organization.\nSupportive and collaborative team environment.\nCommitment to professional growth, innovation, and excellence in care.\nThis is for an existing vacancy\nYee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and accessible workplace.
