This is your opportunity to build the programs, trainers, and standards that support a skilled, consistent, and safety-focused underground mining operation.\nWhat's in it for You?\n$100,000 to $110,000 annual salary\n\n10% annual target bonus\n\nOvertime eligibility\n\n80% employer-paid health, dental, and vision coverage\n\n6% dollar-for-dollar 401(k) match\n\n$10,000 to $15,000 in relocation assistance with a 2-year agreement\n\n2 to 3 months of temporary housing or reimbursement\n\n12-hour day shifts on a 5-on / 4-off schedule\n\nPaid time off and holidays\n\nStable, full-time position with long-term career growth\n\nOngoing leadership and technical development\n\nWhy You’ll Love It Here\nTake ownership of maintenance training across mobile equipment, fixed plant, electrical, and mill operations.\n\nBuild training programs that support employee development, equipment competency, regulatory compliance, and safe work practices.\n\nWork directly with Maintenance Foremen and Supervisors to identify training needs and develop effective peer trainers.\n\nLead a train-the-trainer program designed to create consistent, effective instruction throughout the maintenance department.\n\nPlay a hands-on role in developing Standard Operating Procedures, risk assessments, training materials, and maintenance standards.\n\nContinue developing your technical and leadership capabilities while helping maintenance professionals strengthen theirs.\n\nBuild a long-term career with an established mining operation.\n\nYour New Role\nWork full-time at the Lucky Friday Mine in Mullan, Idaho, supporting maintenance training in an underground mining environment.\n\nDevelop, administer, and maintain maintenance training plans and programs covering mobile equipment, fixed plant, electrical, and mill operations.\n\nDeliver classroom, initial, task, equipment, and underground equipment training for maintenance employees and new hires.\n\nPartner with Maintenance Foremen and Supervisors to identify training needs and develop trainers for maintenance tasks and equipment.\n\nDevelop and oversee a train-the-trainer program using salaried and hourly employees for peer training.\n\nEvaluate trainer effectiveness and make recommendations regarding trainer participation.\n\nBuild training schedules for new employees and ensure required training areas are adequately covered.\n\nCreate training outlines, instructional materials, and supporting documentation as needed.\n\nHelp ensure consistent training for maintenance tasks and equipment.\n\nTrack completed equipment training, required retraining, new equipment task training, and equipment usage observations.\n\nMaintain the training matrix and coordinate required retraining.\n\nAudit training documentation and field practices for compliance and effectiveness.\n\nComplete task training identified in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standards, and Policies.\n\nAudit training programs, processes, and SOPs for effectiveness.\n\nUpdate training procedures as equipment and tasks change.\n\nWrite and revise SOPs, Standards, and Policies following the Management of Change (MOC) process.\n\nPerform risk assessments when preparing or revising SOPs, Standards, and Policies.\n\nMaintain accurate training documentation, including sign-in sheets, training time, and training matrix updates.\n\nReview training documentation for compliance with applicable requirements.\n\nComplete MSHA Form 5000-23 documentation for final evaluations.\n\nConduct underground escape tours for new Maintenance department employees.\n\nFollow up on task training requests and coordinate scheduling.\n\nAssist with Annual Refresher Training, including developing training criteria and delivering instruction.\nHiring Expectations: Apply today, complete a quick phone screening, and get ready for an interview with our team to discuss your goals and experience.\n\nRequirements\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\nMinimum of 5 years of operational experience in an industrial environment.\n\nDemonstrated safety leadership.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.\n\nAbility to effectively communicate technical information and deliver training in both classroom and hands-on environments.\n\nAbility to organize training schedules, documentation, and employee training records.\n\nAbility to work effectively with maintenance employees, trainers, Foremen, and Supervisors in an active mining environment.\n\nUnderground mining experience is preferred.\n\nPrior training experience is preferred.\n\nMSHA Blue Card certification is preferred.\n\nHecla Limited is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
