Assist in prioritizing projects, to ensure the required shop drawing specifications are communicated to production workers to facilitate production of high quality signs in a timely and efficient manner.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPlan and develop layouts from blueprints and templates, applying knowledge of trigonometry, design, and properties of metals and vinyl\nPlan locations and sequences of cutting, drilling, bending, rolling, punching, and welding operations, using compasses, protractors, dividers, and rulers\nReviews plans and diagrams to ensure accuracy of cutting of materials for signs and computes layout dimensions, and determine and mark reference points on work pieces for further processing and minimize waste\nPrints out patterns and digital media to ensure final product meets customer specifications to include color matching\nInputs data and uploads art information into production database/information system\nPrograms router to cut materials consistent with specifications of job order\nImplements and maintains quality control and safety during material handling and router operation\nPerforms preventative maintenance and minor service repairs routers, cutters, and other layout department equipment\nSupervise a group of shop employees\nMARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nMonitors parts and materials inventory; orders and restocks as needed\nInstalls vinyl and plaques in the field\nPerforms service on signs\nAssists with design of signs and may provide graphics support\nPerforms other functions as necessary or as assigned\nNATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:\nInteracts daily with sales department, design, estimators, and production employees and supervisors at the YESCO facilities to discuss layout for sign projects.\nInteracts occasionally with outside vendors and customers to ensure design layout specifications are within needs and expectations.\nTRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
