Coordinates delegates and provides oversight on sheet metal projects.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPlans, coordinates, and delegates sheet metal projects to subordinates to ensure department meets expectations and deadlines\nReviews plans and diagrams to ensure accuracy of cutting of materials to create sign parts\nPlans, prepares and uses materials to be cut in a matter to keep waste to a minimum\nCuts materials consistent with specifications of job order\nOperates metal cutting equipment to accurately cut materials to job specifications\nOperates welding equipment to weld sign parts together\nImplements and maintains quality control and safety during material handling, cutting, and welding\nSands, grinds, polishes, and cleans cut materials\nLayout materials to be used for skinning/covering sign structure\nBends and shapes sign parts by hand or by using brakes according to job specifications\nDrills, rivets, screws, or glues sign parts together\nPerforms pre-painting and wiring preparation by cleaning and labeling of parts\nTouches up paint and performs detail of signs\nTrains sheet metal helpers and apprentices according to YESCO apprenticeship requirements\nMARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nEnsures that sheet metal department has adequate parts and materials to complete projects\nOversees preventative maintenance and minor repairs to sheet metal department equipment\nMoves materials and cut parts around the YESCO facility\nMaintains a safe working environment\nPerforms other functions as necessary or as assigned\nNATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:\nInteracts daily with employees and supervisors at the YESCO facilities to discuss sheet metal department projects\nTRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
