The Role
We are looking for a Junior QA Automation Engineer to help us build a comprehensive automated testing system for our mobile applications, APIs, and backend services.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys coding, finding bugs, solving problems, and building reliable software testing infrastructure.
You will work closely with our developers and product team to ensure that new features are properly tested and that regressions are detected before they reach production.
Responsibilities
1. Automated UI testing
Develop and maintain automated end-to-end tests for our Android and iOS applications.
Automate critical user journeys, including authentication, browsing, search, cart, checkout, payments, vouchers, and order management.
Run automated tests on cloud-based emulators, simulators, and real devices.
Identify and reduce flaky tests and improve test reliability.
2. API and integration testing
Develop automated tests for backend APIs and service integrations.
Validate API responses, authentication, permissions, error handling, and business logic.
Test integration between our mobile applications, APIs, and backend services.
Maintain reusable test utilities and test data.
3. Unit and component testing
Collaborate with developers to improve automated unit and component test coverage.
Write tests for business logic and edge cases where appropriate.
Identify gaps in existing automated test coverage.
4. CI/CD integration
Integrate automated tests into our continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
Configure tests to run automatically on relevant code changes, pull requests, and deployments.
Generate test reports and make failures easy for developers to investigate.
Help optimize test execution time and cloud testing costs.
5. Quality assurance
Review product requirements and identify potential edge cases before implementation.
Perform exploratory and regression testing when necessary.
Investigate failures, reproduce bugs, and document clear steps and supporting evidence.
Maintain testing documentation and contribute to our quality standards.
Requirements
Basic programming experience in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, or a similar language.
Understanding of software testing fundamentals, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Familiarity with Git and basic software development workflows.
Ability to write clear, maintainable, and reusable code.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate with an international engineering team.
Willingness to learn new technologies and take ownership of assigned tasks.
Nice to have
Experience with Appium, Maestro, Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
Experience with API testing using pytest, Postman, or similar tools.
Familiarity with automated testing on cloud-based devices.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Bitbucket Pipelines.
Familiarity with Docker, Google Cloud, Firebase, or Android/iOS development.
Experience using AI coding assistants to write, review, and debug tests.
What you'll learn
How to build a scalable automated testing framework from scratch.
How mobile applications and backend APIs are tested in production engineering environments.
How to integrate automated testing into real-world CI/CD pipelines.
How to collaborate with developers to improve software quality and release confidence.
We're looking for someone who enjoys writing code and wants to grow into a strong QA Automation Engineer or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET).
