Our King Air Department maintains, inspects and repairs the Beechcraft King Air series for owners and operators across the country. We are a boutique-style MRO built on customer focus, employee empowerment and hands-on excitement with every delivery, and we are investing significantly in training to expand your skills and fast-track your career.\nAbout the role\nThis is a 2nd-shift position. With little or no management on site, our 2nd-shift crews are trusted to run the hangar: to make sound decisions, solve problems as they come up, keep the paperwork right, and hand the aircraft over further along than they found them. If you do your best work without someone looking over your shoulder, this shift is built for you. We’re hiring A&P mechanics at every experience level - from new A&P school graduates to senior mechanics with ten or more years on the tools. You’ll perform maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and repair work on Beechcraft King Air aircraft. Our pay scale is published: your starting grade, and your rate, are set by your verified aircraft maintenance experience, and you can see exactly where you’ll land and where you can go from there.\nPay by grade\nGrade\nTitle\nBase\nWith shift diff.\nTypical experience\nGrade 3\nA&P Mechanic - Entry\n$32.00\n$34.00\nNew A&P, 0-4 years\nGrade 2\nA&P Mechanic - Journeyman\n$40.00\n$42.00\n4+ years\nGrade 1\nSenior A&P Mechanic\n$48.00\n$50.00\n8+ years\nGrade rates plus the $2.00 2nd-shift differential. An A&P at Grade 2 or above assigned to lead a crew earns $2.00 an hour lead pay on top - up to $57.00 an hour.* Experience shown is a guide to where experienced hires are placed; final placement is approved by the Department Manager and the Director of Operations.\nWhat you’ll do\nPerform maintenance, inspections, repairs, modifications and operational checks on Beechcraft King Air aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer manuals and company procedures.\nTroubleshoot aircraft systems and resolve discrepancies to their root cause, not just the symptom.\nWork to the standard our Quality Assurance department inspects against - inspection and return to service are issued by QA under our repair station certificate.\nPrepare maintenance records that are accurate, legible and complete before inspection, and record your time and work performed in Corridor.\nComplete assigned tasks within estimated labor hours while holding quality standards.\nComplete company and OEM training on the aircraft models we maintain.\nCoordinate with Quality Assurance, Planning, Engineering and Parts, and keep your crew lead informed on status, delays and discovered work.\nConduct pre- and post-flight inspections, perform routine maintenance checks to approved data, and service oxygen, nitrogen and air-conditioning systems.\nInspect, service and repair fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic and environmental control systems, and maintain landing gear, brakes, wheels and tires.\nCheck and adjust control cable tensions, install and rig flight controls, troubleshoot electrical and avionics malfunctions, and perform battery capacity checks.\nAt the senior grades: advanced troubleshooting, engine runs, special projects and modifications, owning inspection events end to end, and training and mentoring junior mechanics.\nKeep your work moving through the shift without waiting on management: make the call, document it, and escalate only what truly needs the Supervisor or Department Manager.\nGive and receive a clear shift turnover, so work carries cleanly from one shift to the next.\nWhat we’re looking for\nValid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate. Recent A&P school graduates are encouraged to apply.\nAircraft maintenance experience is welcome but not required - it sets your starting grade (see the table below).\nWorking knowledge of the FARs that govern maintenance, including Part 145 repair stations.\nAble to use maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, task cards and maintenance tracking systems.\nExperience with PT6A engines is a plus.\nFor placement at Grade 2 (Journeyman) and above: hands-on experience on PT6A engines is required.\nCareful, complete documentation habits, and a clean safety record.\nReliable attendance, punctuality and shift discipline.\nCan be trusted to work without management supervision: you make sound decisions on your own, manage your own time, and get the work done right and on time.\nAble to work 2nd shift on a regular basis and to work independently with little or no management on site.\nSkills and abilities\nCommunication: Must be able to read and speak English, and communicate effectively with other personnel.\nMathematics: Basic math skills.\nReasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.\n Computer: Basic computer aptitude. Experience with Corridor, ATP or Textron One View is a plus.\nPhysical requirements\nMust be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.\nOccasional periods of walking, sitting, rotation, bending, pushing, pulling and reaching.\nOccasionally lifting up to 25 lbs, and frequently lifting up to 10 lbs.\nWork environment\nFrequent exposure to general shop conditions and engine noise.\nFrequent exposure to aircraft exhaust, moving mechanical parts, lubricants, metals and solvents.\nFrequent exposure to seasonal weather.\nOther requirements\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nMust possess and maintain a current and valid driver’s license.\nMust own and maintain your own basic hand tools.\nMust meet the requirements of the Airport Authority to receive a badge, with no ramp restrictions.\nWhere this role leads\nThe A&P Mechanic ladder has 3 grades, from $32.00 to $48.00 an hour, with a minimum of 48 months at each.
