Availability to work weekends is required.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nSwim Instruction:\nConduct engaging, effective, and safe swim lessons following the YMCA swim lesson program.\nAdapt teaching methods to meet participant needs and skill levels.\nSafety and Emergency Response:\nKnow and review all emergency procedures and promptly respond to emergencies.\nProvide first aid and assistance to swimmers when necessary.\nProgram Documentation:\nTrack participant attendance and skill achievements.\nComplete and distribute skill progression and completion forms to participants or guardians.\nEquipment Management:\nEnsure proper usage, maintenance, and storage of instructional equipment.\nMember Engagement:\nMaintain a welcoming and responsive demeanor with participants, parents, and colleagues.\nProvide feedback and guidance to swimmers and parents to support skill development.\nSafety and Cleanliness:\nUnderstand and enforce all pool safety rules and policies consistently.\nClean and disinfect commonly used surfaces following department protocols.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.\nProfessional Development:\nAttend staff training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge of program standards.\nDemonstrate proficiency in swim instruction and safety protocols.\nAdditional Responsibilities:\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nMinimum Age: Must be at least 16 years old.\nSwimming Skills: Proficient swimming ability that aligns with YMCA program standards.\nCertifications:\nCertifications in CPR/AED and First Aid are preferred.
