Instructs diverse community members, including people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.\nThis job announcement is not intended to be inclusive of all functions, responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position, however, representative of the essential job functions and typical criteria considered necessary to successfully perform the position.\nResponsibilities\nInstructs swim lessons as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.\nDevelops positive relationships with members and participants and provides motivational support and guidance.\nEncourages member and parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.\nCommunicates information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers members and participants to other programs.\nMaintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).\nAttends all required staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.\nWorks alongside risk-management staff to ensure safety of lesson and program participants.\nFollows and advocates all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. \nCompletes incident and accident reports as necessary.\nOrganizes and puts away needed class equipment.
